Moreover, Unapologetically Strong & Female is a space where you can hear/feel/know you're not alone in your desire to change/grow/explore what it means to be female. Tell us about who you are: First and foremost, I am a Christian. My relationship with Christ defines every aspect of who I am. I am a mother, a grandmother of 3 girls, I have an incredible grandson-in-love, and I will soon be a great grandmother! I mention these things because they are the core of who I am and a big part of my daily thoughts.
The Expanded answer: I am compassionate. My passion runs deep for other women who struggle through the rocky roads of life. Having grown up surrounded by a family with mental illness, I learned at an early age to persevere which developed the survivor in me. My mother grew up as 1 of 8 children (5 girls, 3 boys) and all but 1 of the girls had mental illnesses including my mother; so the mental illness thread runs deep playing a significant role in discovering who I am! My past brings out a level of understanding and a caution of not judging people. We don’t know what others have been through to make them who they are. This is not to say I get it right all the time!!! I spent 20 + years in therapy attempting to figure out who I am and what was wrong with me!!!
