Unavoidable Shit With Being Black And Queer
“Being a Black Queer human is a metaphysical dilemma I haven’t quite conquered yet.”
The original line goes something like:
“Being alive and being a woman is all I got, but being colored is a metaphysical dilemma I haven’t conquered yet…” — ‘Tangie’
"I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain. If you’re treated a certain way you become a certain kind of person. If certain things are described to you as being real, they’re real for you whether they’re real or not. It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I’d been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here. Freedom is not something that anybody can be given. Freedom is something people take, and people are as free as they want to be." ~James Baldwin
The intention for this conversation is to create an atmosphere of change around the subject of Being Black And Queer. Also to help share perspectives from A black queer lived experience!

Some churches “weaponize scripture and religion to do very deep damage on the psyche,” this also comes and other forms. Some people may call it spiritual bypassing and others might call it spiritual trauma! Spiritual trauma occurs as a result of events that threaten and damage our core spiritual values and goals. This can be a result of either abuse by religious/spiritual figures or being raised with a toxic and overbearing interpretation of that religion or spiritual belief. Join me and my good friend Sarah Noelle Gabriel as we unpack our experience with religious/spiritual trauma! The intention for this conversation is to create an atmosphere of change around the subject of Religious/spiritual Trauma. Unavoidable Shit with Toxic Positivity
Toxic positivity or sometimes positive toxicity is a dysfunctional approach to emotional management that happens when people do not fully acknowledge negative emotions, particularly anger and sadness. It is a "pressure to stay upbeat no matter how dire one's circumstance is", and this pressure may prevent a person from coping emotionally with such circumstances by feeling otherwise natural emotions. Toxic positivity happens when people believe that negative thoughts about anything should be avoided. Even in response to events which normally would evoke sadness, such as loss or hardships, positivity is encouraged as a means to cope, but tends to overlook and dismiss true expression.
The intention for this conversation is to create and promote healthy views and conversations around Toxic Positivity , removing the obstacles of untold truths and learning to be transparent humans and create genuine experiences!

Unavoidable Shit With the New Age Of Success
I think there is going to be a large paradigm shift in a few years, and it could either be to a new age of enlightenment and unity and we’ll be raised to a new level of consciousness, or it could be a return to a dark age of kings and mass, open oppression followed by a die-off of human culture. “I know it sounds new age-y, but what I’ve truly come up with is that you really need to trust that you’re on your own path, as long as you stay true to it and you show up, which is 99% of it.” ~ Jane Lynch

Unavoidable Shit With Social Distortion
If you refuse to develop in the dark, you create a distorted picture of your life! Somewhere in the things humans make, I want to see scars, failure, disorder, distortion. It is useless to attempt to reason a man out of a thing he was never reasoned into.” “The most dangerous of all falsehoods is a slightly distorted truth. “Society cannot function if it is every man for himself."

Unavoidable Shit With Friends after 30
"Friends
How many of us have them?
Friends
Ones we can depend on
Friends
How many of us have them?
Friends
Before we go any further, let's be
Friends
Is a word we use everyday
Most the time we use it in the wrong way
Now you can look the word up, again and again
But the dictionary doesn't know the meaning of friends
And if you ask me, you know, I couldn't be much help
Because a friend's somebody you judge for yourself
Some are okay, and they treat you real cool
And some mistake your kindness for being a fool
We like to be with some, because they're funny
Others come around when they need some money
Some you grew up with, around the way
And you're still real close to this very day
Homeboys through the Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall
And then there's some we wish we never knew at all
And this list goes on, again and again
But these are the people that we call friends"
~ Whodini

Unavoidable Shit With Religious Trauma Part 1
When Religion Leads to Trauma
Some churches “weaponize scripture and religion to do very deep damage on the psyche,” Gay, lesbian and trans people are told that God condemns them, unwed mothers that they are living in sin, and many natural human desires are deemed evil.Even after people leave religions where they have suffered abuse, they can still harbor the emotional conviction that they are “basically sinful and wrong,” says Marlene Winell, a human development expert who coined the term “religious trauma syndrome” in a series of articles in 2011.The intention for this conversation is to create an atmosphere of change around the subject of Religious Trauma. Also to help share perspectives form different variation of trauma inflected by different spiritual and Religious groups!
