About unbound the pod
unbound the pod is about breaking what breaks us and remembering what binds us. hosted by kiki lindenau (@kikilindenau), it holds space for artists, activists, humanitarians, and seekers to speak from within. no roles. no masks. just people, as they are. together, we explore what it means to live freely, love boldly, and stay soft in a hardened world while uplifting grassroots action and shedding light on overlooked injustice. this is more than podcast. it is resistance to the apathy we see worldwide and a call to return to humanity. because in the end, we're all one and the same.

#10: feminism is not about women, it's about truth
what if we've been reading history with half the pages torn out? that's the question riane eisler asks in the chalice and the blade — and once you see it, you can't unsee it. if half the population has been systematically excluded from how we study, interpret, and understand the past, we don't just have a bias problem. we have a truth problem. in this episode, we get into her cultural transformation theory, what prehistoric art and venus figurines actually tell us about early human society, and why the assumption that "humans have always been violent" might be one of the biggest lies we've ever been told. spoiler: goddess-worshipping, partnership-model societies existed. and they were peaceful. this one will mess with your worldview in the best way. want to learn more? i'm working on a substack article so make sure you subscribe (https://kikilindenau.substack.com/subscribe). resources: - The Chalice and the Blade (https://peacefromharmony.org/docs/Riane-Eisler-The-Chalice-and-The-Blade.pdf) - Riane Eisler - which we are currently reading in sarah's (@bysarahnoack) matriarchal study club (https://the-matriarchal-study-club.circle.so/untitled-page?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQMMjU2MjgxMDQwNTU4AAGnpHRxNQC-va4u5ME4rkS9DZp6lVSFyQjy1aA3HjSbq-P5Lx1OpsTdSZ7JM8A_aem_NLcNvhaj1ZZTfVlSqoG7sQ) follow un|bound: https://www.instagram.com/unbound.thepod/ (https://www.instagram.com/unbound.thepod/) and kiki https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/ (https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/) intro & outro music by krakau thank you for being here <3

#9 ft. clara tomé: how we can actually solve the climate crisis
what if the biggest lie in climate history was sold to you by an oil company? clara tomé (@iamcleer) went from international modeling to climate justice — and in this episode, she's pulling back the curtain on everything the fossil fuel industry doesn't want you to know. a practicing environmental lawyer and EU climate pact ambassador, Clara traces her own awakening and shares what we can all do. but this isn't your typical "go vegan, save the planet" conversation. clara goes deeper — unpacking why the climate crisis is fundamentally a crisis of justice, one rooted in centuries of colonialism and late-stage capitalism. we also get into the stuff that rarely makes it into mainstream climate discourse: why "pristine" conservation can actually harm the communities who've protected those ecosystems for generations, why indigenous knowledge deserves the same seat at the table as peer-reviewed science, and what it really means to rebuild our relationship with the natural world. support clara's ngo rights & roots and protect indigenous lands (https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-amazon-communities-to-resist-an-illegal-project) learn more (https://www.rightsroots.org/) follow clara on instagram (https://www.instagram.com/iamcleer/) follow unbound the pod: https://www.instagram.com/unbound.thepod/ and https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/ and upscrolled https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447 intro & outro music by krakau for more info: - Less is More: How Degrowth Will Save the World - Jason Hickel - BP made up the carbon footprint (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/aug/23/big-oil-coined-carbon-footprints-to-blame-us-for-their-greed-keep-them-on-the-hook) - More about Rights of Nature (https://www.garn.org/rights-of-nature/)

#8: where did we go wrong? the creation of the patriarchy
do you actually know what the patriarchy is? if not, don't worry! i didn't know either, that's why i read "the creation of the patriarchy" by gerda lerner, to actually get a historical understanding of what turns out the start of the oppression of women worldwide. join me on this episode to walk through some of the major developments in history that not only led to the domination of men over women, but that set a precedent for all domination (think slavery, class struggles, exploitation of nature) that rules - and ruins - us today. want to learn more? i'm working on a substack article so make sure you subscribe (https://kikilindenau.substack.com/subscribe). resources: - The Creation of Patriarchy - Gerda Lerner (https://gepacf.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/women-and-history_-v-1-gerda-lerner-the-creation-of-patriarchy-oxford-university-press-1987.pdf) - Feminism for The 99% - Cinzia Arruzza, Nancy Fraser, and Tithi Bhattacharya - The Will to Change - bell hooks follow un|bound: https://www.instagram.com/unbound.thepod/ (https://www.instagram.com/unbound.thepod/) and kiki https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/ (https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/) and upscrolled https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447 (https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447) intro & outro music by krakau thank you for being here <3

#7 ft. sarah noack: from single motherhood to matriarchy
kiki sits down with sarah (@bysarahnoack) to explore single motherhood, matriarchy, and the invisible labor that holds society together. they talk about how patriarchy depends on women’s unpaid care work, and why western systems often fail mothers while other cultures still center the “village.” sarah shares what she’s learned traveling the world with her daughter and documenting mothers’ stories globally — and why supporting single mothers isn’t just personal, but political. support sarah's docu series: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-me-tell-the-stories-the-world-forgot follow sarah on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bysarahnoack/ and substack: https://bysarahnoack.substack.com/ follow un|bound: https://www.instagram.com/unbound.thepod/ and https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/ and upscrolled https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447 intro & outro music by krakau

#6: what do we mean when we speak about "the system"?
we always speak about "the system" - it is inherently violent, and we want to burn it down. but what even is it? using systems theory as a basis, specifically Ludwig von Bertalanffy and Donella Meadows, i break down the system into five different subsystems: economic, political, social, racial, and cultural. using the cocoa supply chain from farms in west africa to our supermarkets, i shine a light on how low farm-gate prices, trade structures shaped by colonial extraction, unpaid household labor, global racial hierarchy, and comforting consumer narratives about chocolate work together to stabilize inequality and wealth accumulation, while shifting responsibility to individual “ethical” choices instead of structural change.

#5 ft. shawna krueger: yoga can be a movement or it can be just movement
what is yoga when it’s more than a workout? kiki sits down with shawna (host of leadership in yoga) to explore yoga as a lens for living — a practice of presence, awareness, and “being” rather than another item on a to‑do list. they talk about why western yoga often centers asana, how capitalism shapes what gets taught, and simple ways to return to the deeper intention through meditation, writing, and everyday moments of pause. support adaptive yoga northwest: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/XBMNVK6LUJBVN learn more: https://www.adaptiveyoganorthwest.com/ listen to the leadership & yoga podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/79mKxBXBGTqaDj3UF10HKy?si=a0bc0211fd2e4434 follow shawna: https://www.instagram.com/shawnakru/ follow un|bound: https://www.instagram.com/unbound.thepod/ and https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/ and upscrolled https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447 intro & outro music by krakau

#4: why I started unlearning the systems I was raised in
in this episode, I share my personal and political journey that led to the creation of unbound. I reflect on how studying decolonization reshaped my worldview, how colonialism, capitalism, and patriarchy live in our bodies, and why institutions alone can’t create real change. this episode explores unlearning, burnout, collective liberation, spirituality, and the power of grassroots transformation — an invitation to question the system and imagine alternatives together. if you enjoy this podcast, please subscribe and leave a rating. follow un|bound: https://www.instagram.com/unbound.pod/ and https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/ (https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/) and upscrolled https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447 (https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447) intro & outro music by krakau

what does it really mean to live in alignment — and why might that be a quiet act of resistance? in this episode of un|bound, i speak with Kara, an alignment coach whose work centers on reconnecting with the body, intuition, and inner knowing. together, we explore unlearning conditioning, dismantling perfectionism, and how alignment challenges capitalism, productivity culture, and the idea that our worth is tied to what we produce. this episode also supports creating freedom movements, a leadership development program cultivating justice, joy, and what Martin Luther King Jr. called beloved community. support creating freedom movements: https://give.socialgoodfund.org/CFMUnbound (https://give.socialgoodfund.org/CFMUnbound) learn more: https://www.creatingfreedommovements.org/ (https://www.creatingfreedommovements.org/) follow kara: https://www.instagram.com/karamckilligan/ (https://www.instagram.com/karamckilligan/) follow un|bound: https://www.instagram.com/unbound.thepod/ and https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/ (https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/) and upscrolled https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447 (https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447) intro & outro music by krakau

#1: breaking what breaks us and remembering what binds us
welcome to un|bound, a podcast about breaking what breaks us and remembering what binds us. in this first solo episode of un|bound, I share why I started this podcast and why so many of today’s global crises are, at their core, deeply human ones. I reflect on systemic injustice, shared responsibility, and why transformation is less about becoming someone new and more about remembering who we already are. un|bound is a space for unlearning, listening, and reconnecting — with ourselves, each other, and our shared humanity. follow un|bound: https://www.instagram.com/unbound.thepod/ (https://www.instagram.com/unbound.pod/) and https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/ (https://www.instagram.com/kikilindenau/) and upscrolled https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447 (https://share.upscrolled.com/en/user/c8a1197d-8a24-4f2d-8ef4-85aca25fa447)
