Ep. 8: The Anxious vs. Avoidant Trap: How Fear Hijacks How You Love
Welcome back to Unchained Identity with your host, Minerva Payano. In Episode 8, we dive into restored and healthy relationships. Your unhealed hurts do not stay locked inside—they spill over into the quality of every relationship you have. Whether childhood abandonment turned you into an anxious people-pleaser walking on eggshells or an avoidant lone wolf who shuts people out, both extremes are rooted in fear. Real restoration begins when you fix your vertical relationship with God before trying to repair your horizontal relationships with people. Inside Episode 8: • Fear-Driven Love: Breaking down anxious and avoidant attachment patterns. • Minerva’s Real Talk: From childhood abandonment at age three and surface-level party friendships to having deep vulnerability weaponized—and how meeting Jesus in 2020 restored her soul. • Dry Wells & Living Water: Learning from the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4) to stop making people your savior. • Forgiveness vs. Trust: Forgiveness takes one person and God; reconciliation takes two people producing changed fruit (Romans 12:18; Genesis 42–45). • The Jonathan Standard: Finding friends who sharpen you and strengthen your hand in God (1 Samuel 23:16). • 3 Practical Keys: Throwing away the mental scorecard, speaking truth in love, and leaving isolation for safe community. Reflection Questions for This Week: 1. Do you cling tightly out of panic, or do you keep people at arm’s length so you won't get hurt? 2. Who have you been expecting to fill a hole only Jesus can fill? 3. Do the people closest to you strengthen your hand in God, or pull you into compromise? 4. What unhealthy habit (scorekeeping, silent treatment, people-pleasing) is God asking you to lay down? Ep. 7: Stop Being a Christian Doormat: Biblical Boundaries, Deliverance & Interior Healing
Welcome back to Unchained Identity with your host, Minerva Payano. In Episode 7, we tackle a vital pillar of lasting freedom: HEALTHY BOUNDARIES. Last week we learned that forgiveness is non-negotiable—but boundaries are what keep the need to forgive from turning into a toxic, continuous loop. Boundaries are not selfish, nor do they stem from a lack of love. They are an expression of respect toward yourself, others, and God. Inside Episode 7: • The Door & The Lock: Matthew 12:43–45 and how boundaries keep unclean spirits from returning to a swept house. • Minerva’s Real Talk: Breaking verbal disrespect loops in marriage, establishing clear limits, and regaining self-worth and peace. • Biblical Precedent: God setting lines for the ocean, the Tree of Life (Genesis 2:16–17), and Jesus refusing to let the crowd crown Him prematurely (Luke 5:15–16). • Escaping the Extremes: Moving away from the "People-Pleaser Savior Complex" and ditching total defensive isolation. A healthy boundary is a fence with a gate, not a stone prison wall. • "No" is a complete sentence (Matthew 5:37). Reflection Questions: 1. Do you build "brick walls" that isolate you, or "broken walls" where people walk all over you? 2. Who makes you feel guilty when you tell them "no"? 3. In what relationship are you trying to play Savior instead of letting God work? 4. What area of your life feels completely drained right now due to a missing boundary? Connect & Support: Submit a confidential prayer request or shop the storefront at unchainedidentity.org. 20% of net profits fund our December winter outreach serving our unhoused neighbors on the streets of Charlotte, NC. Healing Our Emotions: Breaking Destructive Cycles & Finding Freedom in Christ | Episode 6
Emotions aren't inherently sinful—what damages us is when we let them run rampant and dictate our choices. In Episode 6 of Unchained Identity, we tackle one of the most critical steps in the restoration journey: Healing Our Emotions. Host Minerva opens up about the reality of walking through post-deliverance pruning, facing overwhelming sadness, and unlearning destructive defense mechanisms. We explore how God validates our pain, why our feelings don't always tell the truth, and how to transition from exhausting self-reliance to true spiritual surrender. In this episode, we cover: Navigating anger, fear, and sadness without sinning or burning bridges Taking thoughts captive and turning panic into prayer Why emotional maturity comes through the fruits of the Spirit, not willpower Reflection prompts and this week’s 4-Column Emotion Tracker exercise Connect, submit a prayer request, or browse previous episodes and more at unchainedidentity.org , on Instagram at @mrs.payano or on Facebook at Minerva Payano.

Ep. 5: Breaking the Chains of Unforgiveness — The Missing Key to Your Healing
Welcome back to Unchained Identity with your host, Minerva Payano. Demons can be cast out, but if emotional wounds, abandonment, and unhealed trauma remain harboring unforgiveness, the enemy will always find open doors to return. In this raw, vulnerable episode, Minerva opens up about the most demanding milestone of her deliverance walk: choosing to forgive when every natural impulse screamed for retribution. Forgiveness does not mean what happened to you was okay. It does not mean reconciling with toxic people, minimizing sexual abuse, or pretending you never felt pain. Forgiveness is a conscious, spiritual declaration: "I refuse to let what you did keep me bound in prison. I surrender the debt to God." Inside the Episode:• What forgiveness is—and what it definitely is NOT• Facing justice: God will hold all evil accountable (Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10)• Minerva’s testimony of deliverance from shame, guilt, and childhood sexual trauma• How releasing bitterness opened doors to emotional restoration, marriage healing, and motherhood• Why unforgiveness blocks answered prayer and grieves the Holy Spirit• 3 Reflection Questions & The 3-Column Practical Exercise Reflection Questions for Your Week: Is there someone in your life you are currently having a hard time forgiving? Why? In your own words, how do you define forgiveness? Is there something you need to finally forgive yourself for? Need prayer or someone to listen? Ep. 4: Healing Identity Distortion — Tearing Down the Lies & Renewing Your Mind
Welcome back to Unchained Identity with your host, Minerva Payano! Deliverance breaks the chains under the authority of Jesus, but interior healing and mind renewal are what keep you free. When we endure emotional heartbreak, childhood trauma, and rejection, the enemy uses those unhealed wounds to plant distorted identities in our minds—whispering lies like "I'm a failure," "I am unlovable," or "I am doomed to walk the same broken path as those before me." In this powerful episode, we confront the root of identity distortion and learn how to wage spiritual warfare through the Word of God: Biblical Discernment: Why not every physical battle or sickness is tied to personal sin (John 9:1–3). Taking Thoughts Captive: How to dismantle enemy arguments and enforce the obedience of Christ using 2 Corinthians 10:5. The Freedom of Romans 8:1: Understanding what it truly means to live free from condemnation—the court is adjourned and your debt is settled! Minerva’s Testimony: Real, raw vulnerability about overcoming depression, anxiety, extreme emotional swings, and discovering the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit. Your Weekly Assignment: How to do the practical "Lies vs. Truths" two-column activity to replace toxic narratives with scripture. Weekly Activity: "LIES vs. TRUTHS" Grab a journal and draw two columns: Left Column: Write out the lies you have believed about yourself (e.g., "I will never be loved"). Right Column: Find and write out the Bible verse that directly refutes that lie (e.g., 1 John 3:1: "Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us..."). 8 Daily Biblical Declarations to Speak Aloud: 🕊️ Romans 8:1 — I am free from all condemnation. 👑 John 1:12 — I am a child of God. ✨ Ephesians 1:4 — I am chosen and set apart before the foundation of the world. 🏛️ 1 Corinthians 3:16 — I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. ⚔️ Romans 8:37 — I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. 🎨 Ephesians 2:10 — I am a masterpiece of God's hands, created with purpose. 🩸 Ephesians 1:7 — I am forgiven and redeemed by the blood of Jesus. 🌍 Philippians 3:20 — I am a citizen of Heaven with eternal hope. Healing the Broken Heart: Roots of Hurt & Finding Your Identity
Can a person be delivered and still lose their freedom? Yes. Under the authority of Jesus Christ, demons flee—but when the heart remains broken and unhealed from deep-seated trauma, open doors remain. Deliverance without discipleship leads to hopelessness, and discipleship without deliverance leads to frustration. Both must go hand in hand. In this foundational episode of Unchained Identity, we dive into the vital work of Interior Healing—the deep process where the Holy Spirit restores our emotions, memories, and soul wounds from sin, abandonment, rejection, and abuse. In this episode, we cover: Why interior healing is necessary to keep your deliverance and healing. The difference between behavior modification (patterns) and spiritual deliverance (curses). Uncovering the "Roots of Hurt" formed in childhood and adolescence. Recognizing common defense mechanisms: isolation, denial, defensive humor, anger, control, and people-pleasing. Practical reflection exercises: The Tree of Life reflection and the 3-column Hurt vs. Reaction table. Reclaiming your true identity in Christ Jesus through Scripture (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:14, Ephesians 4:22–24). Grab your Bible, your journal, and a willing heart. Generational Curses vs. Generational Patterns: What's Actually Ruining Your Life?
Are you dealing with a spiritual curse that requires deliverance, or a learned pattern that demands discipleship? When we confuse the two, we end up overspiritualizing what is behavioral and underspiritualizing what is demonic. You cannot cast out a bad habit, and you cannot counsel away a bloodline curse. In this episode, we break down the root causes behind both, how to discern what is operating in your family tree, and the exact steps to walk in true biblical freedom. In this episode, you’ll learn: - The true difference between a generational curse and a generational pattern - Signs of occult doors, covenant breaking, and bloodline agreements (Exodus 20:5–6, Galatians 3:13) - Why repeated cycles of addiction, chronic poverty, and mental torment persist across generations - How trauma, modeling, and family culture wire behavioral patterns—and how Romans 12:2 renews your mind - Diagnostic questions to identify what you are facing - Biblical declarations and actionable steps to break cycles permanently "Deliverance without discipleship leads to relapse. Discipleship without deliverance leads to frustration." Scriptures Referenced: - Exodus 20:5–6 & Exodus 34:6–7 - Galatians 3:13 - 1 Samuel 28 & 1 Chronicles 10:13–14 - Proverbs 22:6 & Romans 12:2 - Hebrews 5:14 & 2 Corinthians 10:5 If this message blessed or challenged you, don’t forget to like, follow, and share it with someone who is ready to see their family line set free.
