Gospel of Luke - Luke 24:13-35 - Jesus Appears To Two Disciples While Walking and Expounded To Them About Himself From All The Scriptures - Prog 105
From the Lord’s appearing to the women, Luke now presents Jesus as appearing to two disciples traveling from Jerusalem to Emmaus.
Luke presents post resurrection appearances of our Lord Jesus Christ. Here, one of Jesus’ first ministries after His resurrection was to present a Bible exposition of the Christ, the Messiah from the scriptures which they had.
These scriptures are what we know as the Old Testament.
Jesus explained the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.
Let me ask us, Do you seek to see Jesus in the Scriptures?
Hebrews 12:2-3 exhorts us to “consider Him who endured hostilities and to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith”.
Let’s do this!

Gospel of Luke - Luke 23:50 - 24:11 - Jesus' Body Is Secured By Joseph of Arimathea and Placed In His Own Tomb But Jesus Is Physically Raised From the Dead Three Days Later - Prog 104
As we finish up chapter 23 of Luke we begin in verse 50 (https://www.blueletterbible.org/nasb95/luk/23/50/p1/s_996001). Luke introduces us to a man by the name of Joseph from the town of Arimathea. This man is written about in the other Gospels as well, Matt.27, Mark 15, John 19 along with Nicodemus.
Jesus’ body needed to be buried before the sabbath day started, so there was a need for diligence on Joseph’s part to secure Jesus’ body and place Him in the tomb. As we find out, Joseph placed our Lord’s body in his own tomb which he had cut out of rock himself and a tombstone to roll over the opening.
Dr. Mitchell goes on to chapter 24 and Jesus’ resurrection to gives us an exposition of the those that cared for the body of Christ and His resurrection on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast (http://unchangingword.life), Luke 23:50. (https://www.blueletterbible.org/nasb95/luk/23/50/p1/s_996001)

Gospel of Luke - Luke 23:39-49 - Jesus' Last Words When the Veil In the Temple Was Torn From Top to Bottom Then Come The Words of The Roman Centurion - Prog 103
We continue in Luke 23:39 (https://www.blueletterbible.org/nasb95/luk/23/39/p1/s_996001)on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast. (http://unchangingword.life)
In this lesson, the repentant thief is assured of being with Jesus that day.
Likewise, Luke reveals the finished work of Christ on the cross when he writes of the veil in the temple being torn in half from top to bottom.
As Dr. Mitchell now notes, there is now no longer a barrier between God and man. Our Lord Jesus broke down the barrier on the cross by His shed blood. Now the way is open into the very presence of God Himself.
Will you come to Him today by faith? If you are now a believer in Christ Jesus our Lord, be assured, the way is always open to God.
We also learn of the Roman centurion confession that Jesus was indeed righteous!
