I Think I Like this Little Life

In this episode, I delve into the captivating world of the "Little Life" trend that is sweeping TikTok. You know the one—where the song "Little Life" by Cordelia became the anthem for showcasing the beauty in simplicity. At first, it was all about sharing clips of ordinary moments, but as the trend evolved, so did its influencers. Join me as I explore the unexpected twists in this trend, from new-age trad wives cultivating a seemingly simple life on multimillion-dollar properties to the soft girls revealing their not-so-low-maintenance routines. While I unabashedly admit to devouring this content, I also shine a light on the darker side—the unrealistic standards it sets and the insecurities it fuels. I uncover how social media has a unique talent for making us feel behind, inadequate, and isolated and I expose the stark contrast between the portrayed luxury and the reality of the average person's life. The episode emphasizes the importance of being intentional about the content we consume and how we interpret it. It iscrucial to consciously navigate the digital landscape and remember that your journey is valid, regardless of the illusions presented on social media.

   The Bar is in Hell

Ever since I can remember, I've been the type to aim for the stars, to set the bar high, most notably for myself. It's a trait that's been both a guiding light and, at times, a heavy load to bear. In this episode, I want to unpack the nuances of being a high achiever, especially in spaces where mediocrity seems to be the norm. We often hear about the benefits of being ambitious – the drive, the passion, the relentless pursuit of excellence. And yes, those aspects have propelled me to achieve things I never thought possible. But it's not all sunshine and rainbows. There's a weight that comes with the constant push for perfection, a weight that intensifies when you find yourself surrounded by those who have settled comfortably in the realm of mediocrity. Join me as I share my personal experiences navigating the intricate dance between ambition and the stark reality of low expectations. I'll explore the moments of triumph, the victories that come with pushing boundaries, but also the moments of isolation and the challenges of setting standards that sometimes feel unattainable. How do you manage the pressure, the expectations, and the inevitable moments of self-doubt? In this episode, I'll lay it all bare – the benefits, the detriments, and the delicate balance required to navigate the unique challenges of being someone who refuses to settle.

   The Skinny on Fat Shaming

In this episode, I'm getting real about the rollercoaster ride that is my personal journey through both fat and skinny shaming. Join me as I dissect the surprisingly similar struggles and unique challenges that come with being body-shamed, whether you're told you're too big or too small. I'll talk about those moments when whispers turned into echoes and stares felt like spotlights. It's a candid chat about how these experiences, though different in their details, share a common thread of societal judgment that can really mess with your head. We're diving into the undeniable truth that body shaming hurts, no matter what shape or size. I'm sharing my highs, lows, and everything in between, and I invite you to join the conversation. Let's break down these walls of judgment and build up a community that celebrates every body—because no one should carry the weight of shame.

Are You Sure That's What You're Thinking?

In this episode, we embark on a journey of self-discovery, exploring the impact of external influences on our lives. As we grow and interact with the world, our sense of self can become entangled with the opinions and expectations of others. But when does the influence of others become too much? When do we lose sight of our true selves in the pursuit of social acceptance? The episode emphasizes the importance of solitude, even for those of us who thrive in social settings. Solitude provides the space to uncover our authentic voices, free from external influences. It's not about becoming a hermit but finding a balance that allows us to hear our own thoughts amidst the noise of the world. Discovering your true voice benefits not only you but the communities you're a part of. With self-awareness, you can contribute more authentically and understand the impact of your words and actions on others. It's a process of reclaiming your identity and unlearning the beliefs that may not truly be yours. So, if you've ever questioned whether the things you want and the thoughts you have are genuinely yours or a product of external influence, this episode is for you. We explore the journey toward a more authentic sense of self and the positive impact it can have on both you and the world around you. Tune in to explore the power of solitude, self-discovery, and the importance of finding your true voice in a world filled with external influences.

The One Where We Talk About Domestic Violence

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and I feel it's time to share my story, my experiences, and my perspective on forgiveness—or the lack of it. In this episode, I'm opening up about my own journey with intimate partner abuse; I'll be talking about the things I've been through, the emotions I've felt, and the challenges I've faced as a survivor. But this is more than just a recounting of my experiences. It's also about challenging the notion of forgiveness. You see, forgiveness is often touted as a key to healing, but I don't think it's an absolute necessity. I'll share why I believe forgiveness isn't always essential, especially when you've been deeply wronged. This episode isn't just about me—it's about all survivors finding their voices, breaking the silence, and raising awareness during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and beyond. Let's have a conversation that matters, challenge some preconceived notions, and support each other on our journeys toward healing and self-empowerment.
