Maddie Quinlan is starving.
That is, she has an eating disorder. Something that has shaped a decade of her life. Recovery has never been simple or linear and there’s always more to be learned on the road to healing.
Join Maddie, behavioural scientist, anorexic and curious, heart-first human being, as she speaks candidly about her stumbles and successes in real life, in real time. She will introduce you to others on their own mental health journeys as well as insights from experts along the way.
These are conversations to be had, in the hope of saving others and in having them, maybe save herself. Conversations to nourish our bodies, our minds and our hearts.

Coming to you from the four-month sleep regression trenches, Maddie explores a slightly unhinged but very real thought: why am I missing the tough times?
From newborn chaos to the mucky middle of recovery, this episode unpacks what’s really going on when the present feels unpredictable and overwhelming, and the past suddenly feels… simpler. Not easier, but simpler.
Maddie reflects on how expectations shape our experience of hard seasons, why regressions (in babies and in life) hit so differently, and what it means to be constantly meeting new versions of your baby - and yourself. She also shares a personal moment of craving early recovery routines, and how that pull toward structure and familiarity can show up when everything feels a little out of control.
If you’ve ever found yourself thinking “take me back” in the middle of a tough phase, this episode is a gentle reminder that you’re not actually meant to go backwards..you’re just in something new.

Love of My Life, Please Go to Sleep And Other Fourth Trimester Psychological Experiments
Early motherhood is not hard because it is only difficult. It is hard because it is contradictory.
In this episode, Maddie shares the psychological experiment otherwise known as the fourth trimester. Where you are told to “sleep when the baby sleeps” by people who have apparently never met a baby. The phase where you crave help but also need complete operational control over every diaper tab and sleep transition.
There is no sleep but plenty of time. Then there is sleep but no time. At three months, there is neither.
This episode unpacks the paradoxes: overstimulated yet under-stimulated, fiercely capable yet completely unsure, wildly in love yet occasionally longing for 36 uninterrupted minutes alone.
Ten contradictions. One tiny human. Zero linear logic.
Love of my life, please go to sleep.

Not Everyone Is Coming With You
Not everyone can come with you. And that’s fine. Some people drift, some people surprise you, and some people you thought would be ride-or-die quietly… aren’t. Life chapters do that. Recovery did it. Pregnancy did it. Motherhood is doing it right now.
Some friends pull back because watching you get better—or just survive—is harder than you think. Some are exhausted, or busy, or confused. And some, the ones who have been there already, appear out of nowhere like, “I got you, here’s what you need,” and it’s magic.
Pregnancy and babyhood do the same thing. Plans get cancelled. Availability shrinks. Your world gets tiny. And the friends who get it get it instantly. The ones who don’t… well, they’re still nice people, just… elsewhere.
This episode is about letting friendships shift without turning anyone into a villain. About realizing some relationships pause, some change shape, and some just stick. And maybe giving everyone—including yourself—a little grace while that happens.
If your friend group looks different than it used to and you’re trying to figure out whether to mourn it, shrug, or send passive-aggressive texts… this one’s for you.
