Preventing and Handling Missed SCUBA Dives ;(
Hey Under Pressure Dive Buddies!
I want you to think back to a time when you were really looking forward to something. Maybe you were looking forward to a specific outcome on a project at work. Maybe it was an upcoming holiday. Maybe it was your next dive trip. What happens when things don't work out as you expected? I was planning to go down to Santa Rosa, NM last weekend and I had to call off the trip.
It was a bummer but it brought to mind all the factors we rely on every time we plan to get into the water.
Today you and I are going to dive into 4 reasons we miss dives and 3 ways we can prevent it!
Thanks for listening!

Snorkeling vs SCUBA Diving | Under Pressure Divecast | Episode 013
Snorkeling vs SCUBA Diving
What if I told you that there is a way to enjoy the reef when SCUBA diving isn't an option or if you're a diver traveling with non-divers?
Snorkeling is an underestimated supplement to SCUBA and unless you've actually taken a class there are skills and techniques that would allow you to get much more out of your snorkeling opportunities.
So rather than snorkeling vs. SCUBA Diving like yet another MCU movie, snorkeling and SCUBA diving are buddies.
Let's dive into reasons snorkeling can be a valuable part of your next diving adventure!

Avoid Running Out of Air SCUBA Diving | Under Pressure Divecast | Episode 012
Avoid Running Out of Air SCUBA Diving
One thing we can count on when we're on land is that we don't run out of air. When we're diving though, this becomes a possibility with serious consequences.
The good news is that an out of air emergency is very preventable before the dive and air issues in the water can be successfully managed by following basic recreational dive principles.
Let's dive into avoiding out-of-air emergencies when we're SCUBA diving!

SCUBA Diving and Managing Motion Sickness | Under Pressure Divecast | Episode 010
It's definitely an 'uncomfortable' topic but we're going to talk about SCUBA diving and managing motion sickness.
I started diving here in Colorado in 2002. I never had any trouble with motion sickness and SCUBA diving until I went on my first dive trip to Cairns, Australia later that year on a liveaboard.
I was so sick that I had to cut my time on the boat short by a day or two. Is there anything I could have done to get the most out of my time and enjoyed it more?
Let's dive into SCUBA diving and managing motion sickness!

What SCUBA Gear Should I Buy First? | Under Pressure Divecast | Episode 009
When I first started diving the tag line around SCUBA was that it was a 'gear intensive sport'. I honestly think that singling out SCUBA like that is a mistake. If you look at any adventure sport there is a lot of gear that you need to stay safe and get the most out of the experience.
That said... there is some gear involved and if, like most of us, you're on a budget then you have to make some decisions about what to buy first.
Let's dive in to getting the most out of your SCUBA diving dollars!
