This is a podcast by a rural woman for rural women!
It's the stories behind how women in rural towns have created incredible lives that they may not have seen coming.
It's not about their accomplishments or outward success, but about who they had to become to live this life. It's about challenging and changing their beliefs, having to trust themselves and the path that was unfolding.
These women have seen first hand how, sometimes, life asks us to be someone before we feel ready. The women in this podcast took the challenge and are thriving in a life they LOVE!
Motherhood, Farm Life & the Healing Power of Flowers
In this episode I’m chatting with Liv Coutts, a floral designer living on her family’s third-generation farm.
Liv didn’t grow up in farming life, and when she found herself raising young children in a world where the farm work never really stopped, she experienced just how isolating rural motherhood can be.
A former English teacher, Liv has found a new way to express herself through flowers. Growing her own blooms, running workshops and creating incredible floral installations, she uses her work to tell stories, convey messages and create meaningful experiences.
This creative path came after a health scare and flowers became a way to heal, reconnect with herself and rediscover a part of her that had been lost along the way.
Liv’s story is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the thing that brings us back to ourselves is something we never expected — and that our next chapter can grow from the most difficult seasons of our lives.

SOLO: How I Shifted From Autopilot to Intentional
Have you ever looked up and wondered where the time has gone, or found yourself busy getting through life without feeling like you’re really living it?
In this solo episode, I’m sharing what’s been happening in my own world, why I felt inspired to talk about intentional living, and the shifts we can make to stop running on autopilot and start creating a life that feels more purposeful.
Because being busy isn’t necessarily the problem. It’s when we’re so caught up in doing, thinking and responding to everything around us that we lose sight of what matters to us.
I’m sharing how we can become more aware of where our attention is going, get clear on what we want instead, recognise what’s getting in our way, and begin practising new ways of thinking and being.
You don’t have to overhaul your life, change your schedule or wait for the perfect time to begin. Sometimes, it starts with a little awareness and a decision to do things differently.
If you’ve been feeling a little flat, distracted, overwhelmed or like you’re just getting through the days, this episode is your invitation to pause, get intentional and be inspired to make the rest of your year count.

When Your Story Becomes Your Mission with Robyn Lynch
Robyn is an Ayurveda teacher and practitioner, but her story actually began in the classroom. As a Home Economics teacher, she discovered her passion for helping people feel empowered in their own lives — and that passion has continued to shape the work she does today.
We talk about the evolution from teacher to wellness business owner, and the identities we carry with us along the way.
We talk about Ayurveda and the Doshas, and why Robyn loves the way they can give us permission to understand and embrace who we are, rather than constantly trying to change ourselves.
This is a conversation about how the things we’ve experienced, the things we’ve learned, the questions we’ve asked and the transformations we’ve had can become the very reason we feel called to help others.
This was such a beautiful conversation about identity, business, health, Ayurveda, evolution and becoming more — and I have a feeling you’ll find a little piece of yourself in it too.

SOLO: Why I started Yoga & Why I Stayed
I didn’t start yoga because I wanted to become more flexible, find inner peace or learn how to stand on my head.
I started because I wanted to fall pregnant. And couldn't.
In this solo episode, I’m sharing why I started yoga, why I stayed, and some of the benefits that have kept me coming back again and again.
The cliché benefits of yoga might not be the benefits you’re looking for. You might not care about touching your toes or becoming more “zen”.
But you might be surprised by what you discover when you give yourself the chance to practise. I know I was.
Maybe yoga will change your body. Maybe it will change your mind. Maybe it will change the way you move through your life.
You won’t know until you try.
Term 4 Yoga starts 5th October @ the Yoga Shed and on Zoom.

A Life I Love: Art, Music and the Country with Sophie Twidale
What happens when you give yourself permission to pursue the thing you really love?
In this episode, I’m chatting with Sophie — primary school music teacher, talented musician, incredible artist and proud country girl.
Sophie shares what it has looked like to pursue her passion for painting alongside teaching, including taking the very brave step of heading to France to spend three weeks living and painting at a chateau.
We talk about backing yourself when you’re creating something that feels deeply personal, the nerves that come when people actually look at your work, and the temptation to compare yourself to other artists on social media.
But underneath all of that- Sophie is creating a life that she genuinely loves.
It’s a beautiful conversation about comparison, courage, creativity and choosing to build a life that feels like yours.

From Diagnosis to $40K: The Story Behind Jelly Baby Day with Brenda Storey
In this episode I chat with Brenda, a born-and-bred Dalby girl who absolutely loves life here with her husband Ted.
When their son Zach was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a little boy, it changed their family’s world. But out of that experience came something incredibly positive — 18 years ago, Brenda and her family teamed up with the local rugby club to create Jelly Baby Rugby Day, raising money and awareness for juvenile diabetes.
What started as a small community fundraiser has grown every year, with this year, 2026, being their biggest yet — raising an incredible $40,000.
Today, Brenda is sharing what it was really like to navigate Zach’s diagnosis as a mum, how their family responded, and how one of the hardest things they experienced became something that has brought an entire community together.

SOLO: What I heard on retreat and I know you'll relate.
I’ve just come back from retreat, and there were three things I heard again and again from women in their 40s and 50s.
Three seemingly simple things about the friction we all face in our lives that prevent us from living the life we want to live.
I reveal what I believe is actually going on for these women and how you, if you relate, you can start to make a change.
In this episode, I’m sharing what I heard, what I think is really underneath what they said and ONE question I think is worth asking yourself if you’re ready to step out of feeling stuck or disconnected.
This episode is exciting and inspiring! Enjoy.

Stitched with Love: Building more than just a Business with Megan Tonissen
What starts with a broken makeup bag turns into a creative business built by a daughter and her mum, stitched together through family, creativity and a love of making things by hand.
In this episode I chat with Megan about the journey behind Em & Meg—from a family tradition of sewing, to their first market stall, to building a sustainable handmade business across regional Victoria while she continues to work full-time as a nurse.
We talk about what it really takes to build something of your own alongside a career, the realities of running a business in a regional community, working with family, navigating the doubts and financial challenges of those early years, and the joy that comes from creating something people genuinely love.
For Megan and her mum, thriving isn't about building the biggest business. It's about happiness, connection and finding something that brings them joy.

My Story: How I Found My Way to the Country with my friend Kate Pearce
I'm not behind the microphone asking the questions today —I'm the one answering them.
In this very personal episode of Under the Brim, my friend turns the questions on me and invites me to share the story behind the life I've come to know.
I talk honestly about how I ended up living in a rural town, the defining moments that shaped me, and what life really looks like behind the scenes.
There are stories I've shared many times, and others I've rarely spoken about. It's vulnerable, honest and a little uncomfortable at times—but it's also a chance for you to get to know me.

SOLO Ep: The Woman Who Backed Herself
What happens when a woman decides to back herself—even when the odds are against her?
In this special solo episode of Under the Brim, I share the story of Edna Jessop, a remarkable rural Australian woman whose courage, determination and willingness to back herself created a legacy that still deserves to be remembered.
It's a story about grit, resilience and refusing to let circumstances decide what is possible. But more than that, it's a story about a quality I believe every woman can cultivate: the courage to trust yourself, take the opportunity and back yourself—even when you don't have all the answers.
Edna's story isn't just history. It's a reminder for all of us that sometimes the biggest thing standing between where we are and what might be possible is whether we're willing to believe in ourselves enough to take the next step.

The Beauty of Being Seen with Honey Atkinson
In this episode of Under the Brim, I sit down with Honey who believes there is so much more to being photographed than getting the perfect image.
Living on 10 acres, growing her own food and deeply connected to nature and the seasons, she brings that same grounded perspective to her work with women in business—helping them show up online as themselves, rather than as a polished version of who they think they should be.
We talk about nature, the seasons of women's lives, learning to love yourself in front of the camera, and what it really means to let yourself be seen.
And she leaves us with a simple reminder that stopped me in my tracks: take photos of yourself. Not to post. Not for anyone else. Just so you exist in your story.
I love that!
