Welcome to Under the Sink Show—where we take a step back and ponder on the things we're avoiding, denying, and forgetting. I’m Kyla from The Love Club, here to sort through the mess, untangle thoughts, and maybe make peace with what we’ve been hiding. And who knows? Maybe in the process, we’ll find something worth holding onto.
An extremely late episode that has been sitting on my computer for a while!
This was Ara’s bonus episode from last April, where she talks about the process of creating Marichin Marukoy, which, by the way, began as a very dark poem about an aswang.
The story of Marichin is now a storybook and is currently in the process of becoming a stop-motion film!
We also talk about the importance of sharing stories about our homeland, keeping them alive, and passing them on.
Enjoy!

On Wanting To Be Useful
This week's solo episode may be the last for Season 2.
The amount of hobbies fighting for my attention right now, and the need to sync it with the season and my headspace - I am going to take an art break, meaning I will have a break from <this> and do more visual art and maybe more writing.
How are you finding these episodes? Am I still making sense? I feel like I am growing and I am excited and scared for what's to come.
Thank you for holding my hand. FYI I was holding yours too.

Mapping the Unknown, Intuitively (feat. Ara)
Maybe Biringan City is the friends we made along the way?
This episode features storyteller, filmmaker, artist - Ara Chawdhury!
The sink is filled with curiosity and the unknown, and if you lean into your intuitions (a.k.a your spirit guides a.k.a. your great great great grandmother maybe), you'll learn how to map your way towards good things!
We also talk about how colonial mentality shows up in self-censorship, and why discomfort, disagreement, and friction is be necessary for real human-human understanding.
Enjoy!
