When I was in my early 20s, I felt very directionless. I also had a breakup when I was 21, and I think I had previously defined my whole being by the relationship. So a mix of moving into my 20s, leaving university, entering the sort of real world and air quotes, and losing the one thing that I thought was going to be permanent and was going to ground me, sent me into this spiral of feeling very, very at sea and unsure what choices to make about what kind of person I wanted to make myself into.
