About Understanding Personality, Live Your True Voice
“There’s no place like home.” ~ Dorothy in Wizard Of Oz
This podcast show is all about helping us find our way back “home” to happiness, freedom, and joy.
After 40 combined years in the self-help industry we learned the hard way that happiness is found within, not from an outside guru or anything external. We also discovered that personality and behavior assessments serve as powerful tools to help unlock the question we all want to know the answer to:
Who Am I? Why Am I here?
You can expect us, your hosts Mandy Keene & Mike Ryan, to be real, vulnerable, and transparent on our journey in order to
validate and inspire you on your own unique journey. We will interview experts on this show who can help us have a deeper understanding of ourselves and others by taking a deep dive into the major assessments such as: DISC, Myers Briggs, Strengths Finder, 5 Love Languages, and Enneagram.
It’s our intention to inspire a deeper understanding of yourself and others so that you can be liberated to follow your heart, what we like to call
Your True Voice!
What's the Difference Between Believing in Power and Believing in Control?
We all need a sense of control to feel like our life is manageable. Yet, at the same time, we're all learning what we don't have control over. What's not ours to decide. It's hard not to get triggered by people doing the opposite of what you want them to do. Or to know if your cat is going to knock a plant off the shelf when you can't sit down with them and chat about it after. Our POWER is what we own, and what we protect that we DO have control over. Our attitude is under our control. Our efforts are under our control. But what about the things we fight for, that thought we wanted? Our efforts and attitude are exactly as we want them to be, yet something still isn't right. Things don't work out, or you end up hating it, but because you wanted it so badly, you fight against it. What does that do? You start to feel shame for things "you're not doing enough of". What if it's trying to show you that that isn't the right fit for you? That's alright! Seeing that as a message for your happiness and comfort, sooner, will guide you to the place that makes you feel the best. But believe me, we know that it doesn't feel easy at first. Our understanding of power and control gets scrambled, as human beings in this culture.
In this podcast, we'll be applying personality assessments and understanding your customized mind. Differentiating the beliefs of power and control to find PEACE in our every day lives.

"Happiness is a Choice" is a Comforting Thought... But Here's Why That Old Belief Doesn't Actually Work
"Cheer up", "Happiness is a choice", "Smile, it'll make you feel better". All of these sound simple and heartwarming, don't they? When you're looking at it from the outside, they seem like effective little sentiments. And there's value in them, nonetheless! But what about when you've been depressed for months? For years? What if you have no way to describe the pain in your heart, and as soon as you try, the person you're closest to nudges your arm and says to "cheer up". How does that feel?
In this podcast, we're talking about the old belief that "happiness is a choice" (as if it were that simple). Don't you think if we could press a button labeled "choose happy", our ENTIRE world would be a vivid utopia? Depression and anxiety wouldn't exist in most of our hearts and minds. We wouldn't be listening to podcasts and reading books guiding us to freedom, we wouldn't be drinking and venturing until our pain disappears. We want to peel away that repression from you; to break down the facade that our culture is leaves us to portray all the time. We're not always happy! We are human beings on Planet Earth, we feel it all. Today, we want to share the new belief with you, that's it's NOT as simple as one decision with your posture or your facial expressions... for lasting change, we have to go within and see where this pain and this sadness stems from in order to heal it.

Pain CAN Be a Temporary Teacher, but There's an Old Belief Around Having to Hit the Bottom to Be Ready To Heal... Here's Why That Isn't True
You know that old belief that you have to hit your bottom to really be able to heal, to be liberated from what's been causing you so much emotional, physical and mental pain? We hear this stories of people's pivotal points where "their back was against the wall" or "their card was declined at the grocery store", and THAT'S what transformed them. Our culture is left to belief that we have to start from somewhere so painfully specfic. That's an old belief we're here to free you from. What happens when you dig into where that pain really stemmed from? Let's say it's a chronic pain or addiction. The pain may push you to want something better for yourself but what happens when you look within it? How was your body saying "no", when you weren't? What value of your's wasn't being fulfilled? Once you seek your truth behind the pain, we're here to share with you how THAT can be what finally liberates you.
In this podcast, we talk about how pain can be a temporary teacher, but the OLD belief is that it is the key to your freedom. We share stories of how this has affected us and people we love; how we believed that the people we loved needed to get arrested or to experience something specific to motivate them to get better. But does that make us more shameful and judgmental? How can we heal with something that brings all of us peace-of-mind, without having to hit the bottom?
