Grief is Some Bullsh!t
*Content Warning: We did not edit this episode- "ums", "likes", chairs creak, Aaron burps, throats are cleared, etc - it could be a sensory nightmare. Additionally, as alluded in the title, this episode focuses heavily on grief, and the experiences around grieving and loss, including witnessing death, participating in end of life procedures, and our own last wishes - some dark humor, harsh death words, and Monique's foul mouth as always, abound. If you're not in a space to listen to this episode - don't, if you need support as someone in the throes of grieving, please please reach out to either one of us.

Put A Record On
In episode three, Aaron briefly discussed mix tape culture and how important it was in his life. That dialogue inspired the duo for this episode, where they get in depth with their musical histories and most memorable musical moments as huge music nerds. Featuring some passionate Beatles hate, techno music education, Mary J. Blige ruins a camping trip, and so much more that originally this episode was nearly 1:30.

I'm Bothered: Tales of an Internet
No, we hear you - this is a long episode. TL;DR - 2020 is trash. To restore some semblance of human connection, Aaron and Monique are hosting a handmade card exchange! Details still TBD, but send either of us a DM or email monique@hey.com {please include your email address} to express your interest in participating.
Also in this episode: discussions of sweet Internet beginnings, Aaron does a shockingly accurate impersonation of a modem dialing up, mix-tapes, Monique never tells you - but her first Instant Messaging username was VampiressNyx, a book recommendation, and 27,000 memes because Aaron is petty af.

Y'all Gon' Listen Today: The Fight For Racial Equity Needs You To Look At Yourself
It's just Monique in this special episode one and a half. The discussion surrounding racism and racial equity has finally begun as we protest, worldwide, police brutality. Many white people are just waking up to what Black folks have been screaming about for years - our people are being brutalized and slaughtered in the streets on too frequent a basis, and without justice. In this episode Monique spills harsh truths about complicit silence, why she's tired of coddling white people, her own struggle with her racial identity, and why being an ally is not the goal.

We are Aaron and Monique, a couple of nerds living in upstate NY with their boatload of kids, garden, and a hamster. I {Monique} was drunk when we recorded this, so it should be an introduction. May the odds be ever in our favor.
