Closing the book on the 2024 Election

In this jam-packed episode of Unfit for FM; we tackle a range of topics that are sure to spark conversation. We start with the pervasive election burnout, discussing how the constant barrage of political news is wearing everyone down. Then, we delve into the topic of overbearing veterans on Veterans Day, exploring the fine line between honoring service and expecting to be honored. Next, we lighten the mood with a recount of a trip to the Philadelphia Zoo, sharing the highlights and unexpected moments. But don't get too comfortable, as we then reveal an unethical pro tip for contacting customer service—a little trick that might just save you some time (but use it wisely!). We also preview an upcoming trip to Sesame Place, delving into the high price of tickets and the overall cost of family fun. Then, we switch back to the heavy stuff with a special report on Trump's surprising victory, analyzing voter turnout, the ease of mail-in ballots in 2020, and the impact of new voting machines and long lines at polling places. The episode continues with a heated discussion on the Democrats leaving the working class behind versus the Republicans focusing on the economy and immigration. We critique Harris as a candidate, noting her lack of time to run a campaign, and Biden breaking his promise of being a transitional president. We also touch on how Trump remained more in the media spotlight than Harris, and the hardcore Trump voters who surprisingly support Harris’s wine drinking habits. We then reflect on Harris's concession speech and the notion that Americans might not be ready for a woman president. Trump's victory speech is dissected, revealing a man perhaps too full of himself. The Democrats are now cooked, with infighting about what went wrong, and the election day vibes clearly favored Trump. Finally, we express our dread for the next four years of Trump media coverage and wrap up our coverage of the 2024 Election. During the Screen Scrutiny segment, we dive deep into Episode 8 of The Penguin. We dissect the plot twists, character developments, and jaw-dropping moments that left fans on the edge of their seats.
