Unlocking the Miracles Within - Episode 26 - Nervous System Regulation & Spiritual Safety with Tommy Diependaal
What if feeling safe in your own body is an important part of reconnecting with who you truly are?In this episode of Unlocking the Miracles Within, Jeffrey Sean McDonnell welcomes lifestyle and wellness coach Tommy Diependaal for a wide-ranging conversation about nervous system regulation, spiritual awareness, and what Tommy calls Biological Sovereignty — learning to become more conscious of the body, mind, and spirit and the signals they are continually sending us.Tommy shares his remarkable journey from the Netherlands to more than 25 years living in Southeast Asia, along with a lifetime of experience in martial arts, bodybuilding, meditation, fitness, wellness, and spiritual exploration. Together, Jeffrey and Tommy explore what happens when we stop treating the body as something to control and begin learning its language instead. The conversation gets practical, too. Tommy shares how meditation, intentional breathing, Qi Gong, movement, time in nature, visualization, sleep, and simple moments of stillness can help us return to the present. He even walks Jeffrey through his 5-5-5-5 breathing practice: inhale for five counts, hold for five, exhale for five, hold for five, and repeat for five rounds.Jeffrey also shares what he calls “the catch” — learning to notice when we are physically, emotionally, or spiritually out of alignment before immediately judging or shaming ourselves. Instead, we can become curious about what our body may be trying to tell us.Ultimately, Tommy offers a beautifully simple invitation: slow down. Breathe. Become present. Give yourself enough quiet to feel safe in your own body again. From that place, we may discover that what we have been searching for has been within us all along. In this episode, you’ll explore:
