Unrooted is the raw, unfiltered, BTS conversation behind building something that lasts. Hosted by Yadhira Cordero, we talk about the real stuff, the mindset shifts, identity crises, business lessons, and faith moments nobody puts in their highlight reel. Each episode pulls back the curtain on what it actually takes to build a life you love: the beliefs you have to unlearn, the people you have to release, and the daily reps that make the difference between who you are and who you're becoming. If you've ever felt like you were in between versions of yourself, this podcast was made for you.
I built an entire business around fitness, but it was never actually about the number on the scale for me. Today I'm breaking down why I genuinely believe fitness is one of the best metaphors there is for approaching any goal, your mindset, your business, your relationships, your faith.
We're getting into progressive overload, why nobody should try to lift the heaviest weight on day one of anything, the one rep principle, training to failure and what actually happens in your muscle when you push it there, and why discipline, not motivation, is what actually gets you to day one hundred.

A Simple 5-Step Framework to Transforming Your Life
Today I'm finally naming the actual framework behind everything I teach on this show. Every episode you've heard so far, self sabotage, fitness, vision, all of it, has secretly been one of five steps applied to a different area of life. Today I'm walking you through all five, root the belief, build the environment, create the routine, show up consistently, and trust the timeline, with real numbers and real stories from my own journey, from switching my whole mindset from trainer to business owner, to the actual timeline it took to go from four thousand to forty two thousand followers.
I'm also sharing the visual I use to map this whole thing out, and how it ties directly back to why this show ends the way it does every single week.

The Illusion of Time (A Special Birthday Episode)
It's my birthday, so this one's a little different. Every year right before my birthday I go into this reflective state, thinking about what went well, what didn't, and the goals I never got around to. This year is different though, because for the first time I'm not chasing a specific goal. I just want to become the woman who can be trusted with more.
I'm talking through the verse that's been sitting with me, Matthew 6:27, why worrying doesn't add a single hour to your life, it actually costs you one, and the real, honest reckoning I've had with how much time I've spent worrying about where I am instead of just moving. Plus the five habits I'm building into this new year and why I'm thinking about who I want to be at forty instead of just next year.
If this planted something in you, pass the seed, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs it. And instead of a birthday gift, come pour into yourself, tickets for Rise From the Root are live now at RiseFromTheRoot.eventbrite.com.

Why Things Go Left As Soon As You See Success (And What Self Sabotage Actually Is)
You finally start seeing the success you've been chasing, and then, out of nowhere, everything starts falling apart. You get busier for no reason. You stop showing up for the thing that was actually working. You pick fights, you procrastinate, you find a reason it can't last.
This week on Unrooted, I'm breaking down what self sabotage actually is, why it shows up right when things are finally going well, and why it has nothing to do with discipline or laziness. We're getting into the evidence gap, why imposter syndrome usually shows up right before the sabotaging does, and the exact practice I use to build proof that the new version of me is safe to keep.
If you've ever wondered why you keep pulling away right when it's working, this one's for you.
Follow the show, share it with someone who needs to hear it, and stick around, tickets for my first ever in person event, Rise From the Root, right here in Charlotte, are dropping soon.

Learn to Fail Forward
Most people don't start, because they're scared of an outcome that's usually just their current life anyway. In this episode I'm breaking down why your worst case scenario is probably the exact reality you're already living in, why babies keep falling and getting back up while adults quit after one try, and the actual mistake that keeps people stuck when they're doing the work but not seeing results yet. I'm also getting personal about the one fear that trumps everything else for me, waking up at eighty five with regret, and I'll leave you with something to actually act on today.

What's Your Vision?
Most people don't reach their goals because they never actually built one, they just have a vague idea. In this episode I'm using a road trip analogy to show you why vision matters so much more than motivation, and I'm walking you through exactly how specific you need to get, down to what time you wake up, how you talk to yourself, and the exact number in your bank account. I'm also giving you a homework assignment that's genuinely changed how I chase my own goals, a gratitude letter you record and listen to every single day until you become the person you wrote about.

Not Your Typical Burnout Conversation
This episode is not the burnout episode you're expecting. I used to think burnout meant I was simply just working too much and that I just needed to push through. Turns out that's not it at all. I'm walking you through the exact moment I realized I was burnt out, what it actually cost me, my identity, my faith, my peace, and the signs I kept explaining away because I didn't want to admit I wasn't enjoying what I built. If you're scared to slow down because you think everything will fall apart, this one's for you. Stick around for the challenge at the end too, I want to hear how it goes for you.

Your Environment Controls You More Than You Think
There is no neutral environment. It's always either building you or breaking you. This episode breaks down the four layers most people never audit: mental, spiritual, physical, and relational. I'm getting personal about what happened when I stopped drinking and started prioritizing my goals, and why the people closest to you are sometimes the first ones to make you feel like the problem for wanting more. If you've ever felt guilty for outgrowing your circle, this one's for you.

What is Your Identity Rooted in?
This episode is about identity. What it actually is, how it gets formed, and why it breaks under pressure. I'm walking you through the belief system underneath everything you do, the inner critic that isn't even your real voice, and why high achieving women self-sabotage the second they get close to what they want. I'm also giving you three questions to start examining your own identity today, because separating who you are from what you have is the whole game.

Why I Named it 'UNROOTED'
I finally did it!!!!!! :) I started the podcast I've been dreaming about for over two years. In this first episode I'm taking you all the way back to where this really started: the therapist chapter, the fitness business that took me from $1,500 a month to almost $9K, moving to Charlotte alone with no safety net, and the burnout that made me shut it all down and start over. I'm explaining exactly what "Unrooted" means and why I built this show for the woman who's in between versions of herself. This is for the women who is not who she used to be, but also not yet who she's becoming. This episode is my thesis for the whole podcast, so if you only listen to one, let it be this one.
