Is Julian Tabares ever coming back to YouTube? Julian Tabares & Martin Libby - Unveil Your Story EP .07
Ever wondered how one balances the weight of personal dreams with the responsibilities of ministry? Join us on the Unveil Your Story podcast as we reunite with our lifelong friend, Julian Tabares, for an enlightening discussion that spans two decades of friendship, spiritual growth, and creative exploration. Fresh from my trip to Australia, Julian and I relive our earliest memories from Sunday school, tracing his journey from Colombia to becoming the music director at his father’s church in Maryland. We dive deep into the importance of accountability, humility, and the delicate act of maintaining genuine worship amidst external pressures.
Imagine serving God with unwavering excellence in everything you do, from preaching to simply cleaning the church. Julian and I share personal anecdotes that illustrate the profound joy and dedication that come with ministry. We explore the urgency for God in today's culture, contrasting the fervent faith found in struggling countries with the complacency often observed in more stable environments like the U.S. The discussion takes a reflective turn as we delve into the discipline of boredom and how it fosters creativity, emphasizing the importance of staying grounded and true to one’s craft even amidst professional success.
Amidst all this, we don’t shy away from the struggles of transitioning careers and the financial and spiritual challenges it entails. Julian opens up about his journey from real estate to pursuing a calling in music, sharing how faith and trust in God's provision brought him through difficult times. We also touch on the responsibilities of having a significant social media following and the balance between creating valuable content and maintaining personal life. This episode is a rich weave of personal stories, professional insights, and spiritual reflections, perfect for anyone seeking to align their career with personal values and stay true to their calling.

Ben Cashen literally does everything. Martin Libby & Skylar Hunt - Unveil Your Story EP03
(description written by a.i.) When Ben Cashen decided to transform an attic space into a home studio, he was channeling more than just his audio expertise; he was opening a door to a world where sound, photography, graphic design, and video collide. Our conversation with this Texas-to-Ohio creative maverick reveals his evolution and adaptation in the face of COVID-19's challenges, especially in his role at Christian Life Center in Heath. Ben's story is a testament to innovation and resilience, particularly as we uncover the surprising benefits of a vertical monitor in his studio setup – a twist that proves necessity truly is the mother of invention.
Reflecting on my own journey, I recognize the parallels between Ben's pursuits and the determination it took me to carve a niche in the audio and music production scene while juggling jobs at Chick-fil-A and Harry and Izzy's. There’s a special kind of dedication that's required to balance breadwinning with passion – a balance that's vividly illustrated through anecdotes from our time at Independent Baptist College and beyond. Whether it's discussing the emergence of content creation, the influence of trailblazers like Braxton, or entertaining the notion of a return to the culinary arts, this episode is a melting pot of inspiration, hard work, and the pursuit of creative excellence. Join us for an intimate exploration of the uncharted territories in creativity, where the aroma of possibility is just as enticing as any kitchen's fare.
