Up One cuts through the noise of health and wellness trends. Hosted by Sawyer Stone and longevity scientist Dr. Bill Andrews, each episode unpacks peer-reviewed research on supplements, therapies, and diagnostics - no fluff, just facts. If you're serious about the science of aging and human performance, it's time to take it Up One.
The Powerhouse and the Protector: Bridging the Gap Between Mitochondria and Telomeres
Sawyer Stone and Dr. Bill Andrews demystify the complex relationship between mitochondrial health and the aging process. Dr. Bill breaks down cellular energy, explaining how mitochondria function as the body’s primary power source through ATP production. The discussion moves beyond simple marketing hype to explain how short telomeres act as a "dimmer switch" that can shut down mitochondrial efficiency. From the benefits of Urolithin A and NAD precursors to a surprising revelation featuring Dr. Bill’s personal history with Betty White, this episode provides a comprehensive look at how to maintain cellular resilience and why the future of longevity depends on protecting both our batteries and our genetic hard drives!

The Longevity of Intimacy: Why Sexual Health is a Biomarker for Aging
In this episode of Up One, hosts Sawyer Stone and Dr. Bill Andrews are joined by world-renowned sexual health expert Dr. Amy Killen to explore the profound link between physical intimacy and biological longevity. The conversation breaks down the "four pillars" of sexual health—the mind, hormones, blood flow, and pelvic support—while highlighting research that suggests regular sexual activity can lower all-cause mortality by 50%. From the benefits of oxytocin and nitric oxide to emerging regenerative treatments like shockwave therapy and stem cells, the trio discusses how maintaining sexual vitality isn't just about reproduction; it is a critical biomarker for overall physical, mental, and immune health. Challenging the myth that sexual decline is an inevitable part of aging, Dr. Killen provides actionable advice on lifestyle choices, supplements, and the importance of open dialogue to help listeners reclaim their health span.

Menopause Unveiled: Is It a Biological Clock or Just Organ Failure?
In this frank discussion on Up One, host Sawyer Stone is joined by Dr. Bill Andrews and longevity physician Dr. Sandra Kaufmann to demystify menopause, an event Dr. Kaufmann calls "a canary in the coal mine" for a woman's aging process. They debate the underlying cause, with Dr. Andrews questioning if it's a random genetic accident linked to 'Mitochondria Eve' or a mysterious, non-linear timing mechanism. Dr. Kaufmann offers the view that it's fundamentally ovarian failure driven by high metabolic demands , and they address common symptoms like osteoporosis, fatigue, and the surprising link between estrogen decline and LDL cholesterol. They also discuss the crucial timing of hormone replacement therapy and the non-linear "cobweb" of interconnected molecular pathways that influence a woman's transition.

Decoding the Data: How to Spot Quacks and Charlatans in Health Research
In this episode of Up One, hosts Sawyer Stone and Dr. Bill Andrews pull back the curtain on the world of scientific publishing and health claims. Dr. Andrews explains that a standard meta-analysis is insufficient because the peer-reviewed literature is riddled with flawed or even fabricated data, often fueled by the pressure to "publish or perish" or by commercial bias. He defines critical meta-analysis (CMA) as the essential skill needed to determine a study's true credibility by examining experimental design, statistical integrity, and the common sense of its conclusions. Listeners will learn how easy it is to mistake correlation for causation and why a single "Betty White test" is often more trustworthy for assessing age reversal than quantitative biomarkers alone.

Collagen Peptides: The Truth Behind the Anti-Aging Protein
In this episode of Up One, hosts Sawyer Stone and Dr. Bill Andrews are joined by Chief Formulator Christian Chase to break down the science of collagen peptides. They explain that collagen makes up 25% of your body's protein, providing the structural integrity for your bones and skin, and its production is closely linked to telomere length. We clarify the difference between full-length collagen and the effective short-chain peptides that stimulate your body's own production. Learn about the importance of co-factors like Vitamin C and polyphenols and hear an update on the quest to create a high-quality, plant-based collagen inducer.

In this episode of Up One, host Sawyer Stone and molecular biologist Dr. Bill Andrews return to the fascinating subject of aging, moving beyond the myths to focus on the tangible science of telomeres. Dr. Andrews shares the personal story that ignited his career and explains his "ride tickets" and "tug-of-war" analogies for telomere shortening and lengthening. He reveals how his lifestyle, from ultramarathon running to a plant-based diet, is a conscious effort to slow down this process and discusses the crucial difference between products that lengthen telomeres and those that only appear to do so. This episode offers a deep dive into the practical actions, from diet and exercise to specific supplements, that can genuinely impact your longevity, while also exploring the future of age reversal.
