Porn, Bots and Screens: Part One "Is This Even Porn?"
Welcome to Episode 42 of Up the Rabbit Hole!
In this eye-opening episode, Dr. Cory Hrushka (https://www.insightpsychological.ca/staff/cory-hrushka/) and Brandi Enns (https://www.insightpsychological.ca/staff/brandi-enns/) are joined by special guest Dr. Tim Parker (https://timparkerphd.ca/2023/03/11/hello-and-welcome-to-my-blog/), to dig into a topic that keeps coming up: porn, AI chatbots, and the screens we can't seem to put down. This is Part One of a two-part series, and it starts with the question "Is this even porn?"
Dr. Parker retired in 2023 from the University of Alberta's Augustana Campus after teaching biological psychology for 38 years. After spending so long teaching students how drugs work in the brain, he realized this is information everyone should have. So he wrote and self-published Trapped by the High: What Addiction is and How it Changes the Brain (https://timparkerphd.ca/trapped-by-the-high/), a book that turns the neuroscience of addiction into an engaging, useful narrative.

The Quiet Crisis: Men, Intimacy & Connection
This Men's Health Month, we're diving into The Quiet Crisis: the increasing prevalence of loneliness in men.
Welcome to Episode 41 of Up The Rabbit Hole! In this episode, Dr. Cory Hrushka (https://www.insightpsychological.ca/staff/cory-hrushka/) and Brandi Enns (https://www.insightpsychological.ca/staff/brandi-enns/) tackle the real and uncomfortable questions men are asking online but rarely saying out loud, covering rejection, anxiety around women, and emotional isolation.
The questions men are quietly posting online tell a story: wanting intimacy but fearing it, craving connection but not knowing how to ask for it, feeling lost without the language or the models to figure it out. In this episode, Cory and Brandi sit with those questions honestly, exploring what gets in the way of closeness for so many men and what moving toward it might actually look like.

Welcome to Episode #40 of Up the Rabbit Hole!
In this heartfelt and eye-opening conversation, Dr. Cory Hrushka and Brandi Enns are joined by special guest Joan Price—award-winning author, senior sex educator, and trailblazer in the field of ageless sexuality—to explore one of the most tender and rarely discussed topics: sex and intimacy after grief.
Drawing from her own journey and her book Sex After Grief: Navigating Your Sexuality After Losing Your Beloved, Joan shares compassionate, practical insights on how to reconnect with your body, pleasure, and desire while honoring the pain of loss. Together, we discuss:
💔 The emotional complexities of intimacy after losing a partner🌱 How healing and sexuality can coexist🛑 Breaking through guilt, shame, and societal stigma💡 Practical steps to rediscover pleasure, confidence, and connection
Joan’s candid and compassionate approach reminds us that sexuality is a vital part of being human. One that can still bring comfort, joy, and even healing after loss.
