Diamond Blenman explores and highlights the lives and endeavors of some of Philadelphia's most known and unknown artists, activists, authors, organizers and philanthropic leaders the city has to offer. Conversations worth inspiration.
I had the pleasure of sitting and speaking with Brother Braheem Najeed. One of the original proprietors of Philadelphia's Broad and Erie Store, now closed, Black and Nobel. We sat for over an hour and a half and discussed the rise and fall of not only his journey with Black and Nobel but also all the caveats that aided in that locations demise. Once a staple in Philadelphia's Nicetown-Tioga section of the city, now just a physical framework of what once was. This conversation is one I think all should listen to, especially in regards to the fall of the mixtape and the empowerment of black neighborhoods and creatives.

Turmoil and Solutions: A City in Crisis
Diamond Blenman talks of possible solutions to the city of Philadelphia's on going gun violence. With a homicide rate up 41% as of October 12th 2020 compared to 2019, there must be solutions not only talked about but put into action. Opening doors to conversations with people throughout the city who have been impacted by this crisis. This episode is a pre-ep to episode 1, Turmoil and Solutions: A City in Crisis; a pod-series about the ongoing violence in the city of Philadelphia, and alternate solutions not grounded in traditional backings.
