With this podcast, Daniel and Martyn from Valtos are aiming to interview relevant musical inspirations and friends from the Scottish musical scene to provide a new perspective on the artists and music we all know and love.
In this episode of In Session, Dan and Martyn were joined by Martin, Alec, and Scott of Skerryvore. Valtos had the pleasure of joining Skerryvore for their 20 year celebrations at Floors Castle in the summer of 2025, but didn't really get to catchup with the boys as they were so busy: as Alec puts it in this episode, it was like hosting your own birthday party where you don't really see anyone. Conversation ranged from the 20th anniversary celebrations, to how the band began, touring the world, having their equipment stolen in Australia, what discs they'd take to St Kilda, and much more. #9 - The MacLean Brothers - Bagpipes at Comicon
They've rowed across the Atlantic, and they've just finished a record breaking row across the Pacific to raise money for fresh water projects in Madagascar - to us this makes them three of the most inspirational people on the plantet. We're sure you've heard all the main stories but in this episode of Valtos: In Session, Dan & Martyn really got to the core of Euan, Jamie, and Lachlan and got to know them on a more personal level. Conversation varied from how Jamie was beamed in to play the Pipes (from the boat) for All American Rejects at Comicon, speaking to celebrities such as Mark Walhberg and Euan MacGregor, squeezing instruments on to their boat, and of course their musical inspirations, alongside much more.Find out more about the Brothers and the MacLean Foundation here: https://www.themacleanbrothers.com/https://www.instagram.com/themacleanbrothers/Find out more about Valtos and stream the music: Linktr.ee/valtosbandFilmed by Sykd Media.Recorded at Assumption Studios with Scott Wood.
