Fruit Flies - Don't Ghost me Bro
Ever wondered if your last fashion faux pas could haunt you for eternity? Join us, along with paranormal expert Christopher Balzano, as we unlock the mysteries of the Winchester Mansion and distinguish the clingy nature of ghosts from the protective embrace of spirits. We'll equip you with a newfound understanding of these otherworldly entities, and you might even find yourself chuckling at the lighter side of the afterlife as we explore whether your final outfit choice could follow you into the great beyond.
As we recount the story featured in "Fominant American Ghost," about a woman's ghost-construction conundrum, we'll dive into the murky waters of skepticism and truth. Was her incessant building a means to outlive the spirits, or a manifestation of her grief-stricken mind? Alongside this tale, we share our own brushes with the unexplainable and how these experiences color our cultural lens—sometimes with humor, sometimes with a shiver down the spine.
We wrap things up with an entertaining and eyebrow-raising discussion on the supernatural tools of the trade: Ouija boards and dowsing rods. Seth and I exchange anecdotes and skepticism about these ghost-hunting gadgets, ending with a playful debate on their effectiveness—or lack thereof. And as a teaser, we leave you with the promise of delving into the illusive charisma of illusionist Chris Angel in our next episode. So, tune in, and let's share a laugh or a fright together, because who says you can't do both?

Beyond Baker Street - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Unlock the secrets of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's storied life as we journey beyond the foggy streets of Baker Street and into the realm of the supernatural. Discover the astonishing dichotomy of a man who, while birthing the quintessential detective Sherlock Holmes, harbored a passion for spiritualism that rivaled his literary pursuits. You'll be captivated by tales of Doyle's disdain for his own creation, comparing his feelings to Nirvana's mixed emotions about their anthem "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Our conversation ventures into the realm of real-world mysteries, where Doyle's astute logic aided police investigations, ironically mirroring the intellect of his fictional sleuth.
Prepare to be intrigued by the cultural titan's lesser-known forays into the world of psychic mediums and his staunch belief in the Cottingley Fairies—was he swayed by his psychic medium wife or simply a victim of the era's mystique? Guest Sean Coleman joins us to peel back the layers of the Somerton Man enigma, while my wife brings a fresh perspective to our riveting discourse. With forthcoming episodes that promise to dissect the enigmatic happenings of Laurel Canyon and send shivers down your spine with urban legends, this is your portal to the extraordinary. Stay tuned as we bridge the gap between the arcane and the analytical with stories that continue to enchant and challenge our understanding of the known—and perhaps the unknown—world.

Fruit Flies - The name is Abe, not baby. Mr. Lincon. If your nasty
Step back in time with the Boley family—myself, Christopher, and my sons Seth and James—as we crack the code on one of history's most infamous events: the Lincoln assassination. From the fiery indignation of John Wilkes Booth to the echo of a gunshot in Ford's Theatre, we unpack the story with a twist of humor and a dash of familial banter. You'll be on the edge of your seat, laughing as we trip over historical faux pas and draw bizarre parallels to other assassinations, like JFK's, all while sifting through the maze of plots, premonitions, and presidential anxieties that colored Lincoln's final days.
Get ready to be whisked away on a historical rollercoaster that not only sheds light on Lincoln's fateful night but also takes a detour through the absurd—imagine an assassin's scheme thwarted by a craving for a snack, which we can't help but imagine as the premise for a candy bar commercial. And if that's not enough, join us as we segue into promoting the eclectic world of fruit flies on our other podcast, Various Fruit. It's a family affair where history meets humor, and intrigue meets the unexpected, ensuring that by the end of our jaunt, you'll have learned something new and had quite a few laughs along the way.
