Hur riggades ett skepp som Vasa? Och hur gick det till att segla det enorma skeppet? Dessutom: kollerstocken som styrsystem får återupprättat rykte. När Vasa bärgades 1961 öppnades en marinarkeologisk skattkista från tidigt 1600-tal med tusentals fynd som berättade om skeppet och människorna som var ombord. Bland de mest anmärkningsvärda fynden är alla föremål av trä, metall och tyg som utgör skeppets rigg. Dessutom hittades hela nio segel som överlevt tre sekler under vatten. Tack vare de unika fynden har den komplicerade riggen kunnat rekonstrueras i detalj och forskarna har kunnat förstå hur ett fartyg som Vasa seglades och styrdes. Vasamuseets forskningsledare Fred Hocker och Olof Pipping som är expert på historisk riggning av fartyg, samtalar med Catrin Rising om hur Vasa riggades, seglades och styrdes.
