From a Two-Drawer Kitchen to Cakes for the Golden Knights | Korey Wells, Whiskful Thinking Cakes
Korey Wells taught herself to decorate cakes on YouTube in a kitchen with two drawers. Today her cakes have been on Food Network, ESPN and in Us Weekly.
Korey studied illustration at Art Center College of Design and planned to illustrate children's books. Home with two young kids, she made her daughter's third birthday cake and never stopped. She sold cakes through mom Facebook groups, filled her garage with fridges, won Food Network's The Big Bake, and opened Whiskful Thinking Cakes on Fort Apache.
In this episode: painting buttercream inside a walk-in freezer, Golden Knights milestone cakes, the two-week Toy Story cake, the confetti cake at a Golden Knight's wedding, being sober for almost 17 years, and why she wants to bake for the A's.

He Put Flyers on 3,000 Cars a Month Until Allegiant Stadium Called | Steve, Mr. Fries Man
Steve printed 3,000 flyers a month and put them on car doors outside Allegiant Stadium for three years. Then the stadium called him, and he almost let it go to voicemail because he thought it was spam.
Steve is the owner of Mr. Fries Man Las Vegas. He grew up in Gardena, learned to cook at 11 because he was tired of TV dinners, and spent years in Vegas nightlife at the Bank inside Bellagio and five years at Drai's. When the pandemic closed the clubs, he filed the paperwork on a restaurant instead. It took ten months to open and he paid rent the whole way.
In this episode: why loaded fries work as a main dish, the flyer system that still beats social media, the two rounds of tasting against a dozen restaurants at Allegiant, the Kool-Aid that everyone remembered, employing at-risk kids through YAP, the patio and beer and wine coming to Flamingo in January, the Mr. Fries Man sports bar he wants to build, and the autobiography he is releasing December 3rd.

She Bought a Dessert Shop She Had Never Heard Of | Creamberry Las Vegas
Len spent seven months getting a group home deal to the finish line. In January the bank walked away. A week later she was searching "business for sale" and found Creamberry, the Las Vegas shop behind the cotton candy burrito, a dessert she had never heard of and had certainly never eaten.
She bought it anyway. What sold her was not a revenue figure, it was one line in the listing about an invitation to Dubai. Then came the part nobody posts about: dark walls, two employees left, a two week handover, and month after month of wondering whether payroll and rent would clear without dipping into savings.
She walks Jack through growing up in her parents' shop in the Philippines, leaving nursing, building written systems before menus, finding a copycat in Florida and trademarking "home of the original," and what she actually wants five years out.
We get into:
🌯 What a cotton candy burrito is, and how it gets built
🍦 Why rolled ice cream outsells the thing that went viral
💼 Buying an existing business versus starting from scratch
😮💨 The first week, and crying in the middle of it
💵 Making payroll as the real measure of a business
🍭 The mobile cart and the catering side
📓 Vision boards, and reading your goals every morning
