Fatale Flatbrand in Arnhem
In de nieuwjaarsnacht van 2020 leidde brand in een bankstel in de entreehal van een flat in Arnhem tot twee dodelijke slachtoffers en twee gewonden. Deze brand ontwikkelde zich zeer snel tot een grote brand waarbij veel giftige rook vrijkwam. De Onderzoeksraad voor Veiligheid concludeert dat het voor de bewoners onmogelijk was het flatgebouw te ontvluchten doordat de brand woedde op de enige beschikbare vluchtroute. Veilige vliegroutes - Reageren op escalerende conflicten
De besluitvorming om een luchtruim boven een snel escalerend gewapend conflict te sluiten of te mijden verloopt te traag. Dat concludeert de Onderzoeksraad voor Veiligheid in het onderzoek ‘Veilige vliegroutes – Reageren op escalerende conflicten’. Jeroen Dijsselbloem, voorzitter van de Onderzoeksraad voor Veiligheid: “Afgelopen jaren is gebleken dat onwaarschijnlijke scenario’s heel snel realiteit kunnen worden. Uit voorzorg moet een luchtruim boven een risicogebied eerder worden gesloten of vermeden.”
