<p>We've made it to week 8 of the 2025 grape and wine harvest in New York State. A lot of the grapes have been picked, but the fruit that's still hanging is looking great. This week we hear from Amanda Gardner, Alice Wise's grape-growing teammate at Suffolk County Cooperative Extension. Amanda gives us her impressions of their research block, the Long Island season and, yes, spotted lanternflies. Hans Walter-Peterson and Amanda then discuss what to do when there are too many to squish.</p>

October has come in with a bang: more extreme weather, more spotted lanternfly sightings, super harvest moons, the whole experience.
