About Very Good Music: A VGM Podcast

Bedroth and Shootkapow take a parent/kid road trip through the wide world of VGM. Songs can come directly from games, be covers or remixes, or even just be inspired by existing VGM, but they always follow one rule: everything must be very good music! Episode 79: Five Finger Fanfare, Part 2

We are back again, and this time we're returning to a classic show theme for another Part 2, this one focusing on the Five-Finger Fanfare (a term coined by the Super Marcato Bros. on their excellent and seminal VGM podcast). This is a term used to describe a run of 5 notes that line up with the first 5 notes of the minor scale - a technique used frequently in video game music. Will you be able to hear the Five-Finger Fanfares in each piece of Very Good Music the hosts brought to this episode? Only one way to find out! As always, we appreciate our amazing patrons who supported us for so long, as well as the artists who made our show art and theme song. Episode 78: Super Secret Boss Battle

Greetings, game music lovers. It's been a while, hasn't it? Shootkapow and I decided to dust off the old podcast for y'all after she encountered a game area in Celeste that she thought would make a great episode topic. I guess she was just feeling homesick and nostalgic, and dear old Dad was there to fire up the VGM-Mobile and get back on the road - for at least one more round of Very Good Music! Thanks again to our listeners and supporters who recommended tracks for this episodes! As always, we appreciate our amazing patrons who supported us for so long, as well as the artists who made our show art and theme song.
