Podcast Overview

Veteran Perspectives is what happens when a disabled Army vet with PTSD, a past in teaching, and way too many opinions decides to turn his blogs into a podcast. It’s part therapy, part rant, part “WTF is even happening anymore?” Expect stories, strong takes, awkward tangents, and the occasional “Did he really just say that?” If you're into honesty, dry humor, and war-torn wisdom from a dude who’s been through it—pull up a chair. No guests, no scripts, no filter. Just vibes. "Life, trauma, purpose—and a little profanity.”

AI Future-Proofing the Next Generation (Part 4)

"The world changed. Education didn’t."

In this episode, I’m digging deeper into the ideas from Part 4 of the Future-Proof Student series. We’ve spent the last few weeks calling out the resistance within the academic establishment. Today, we pivot to the solution.

If we continue to grade students based on their ability to follow instructions and memorize facts, we are essentially training them to be second-rate versions of the AI tools they will eventually compete with. Are we actually equipping our kids with the gear they need for the modern economic battlefield?

In this episode, I cover:

The "Interrogation" Mindset: Why the ability to ask the right questions (Prompting) is now more valuable than knowing the answers.

The Hallucination Guardrail: Teaching students to be the "Verify" in "Trust but Verify" when dealing with AI output.

From Compliance to Creativity: Why the "good soldier" model of education is failing our children in a creative economy.

A New Curriculum: What happens when we stop fearing the tools and start integrating them into every subject from history to science.

The academic leadership can either adapt or become obsolete. Either way, we cannot let our children pay the price for their hesitation.

Resources Mentioned:

Read the full written article: Part 4: The Future-Proof Student

Support the channel https://jkprintsgifts.etsy.com

I want to hear from you: As a parent or a fellow veteran, what is the biggest "skill gap" you see in the graduates coming out of high school today?
