Visitáis a un amigo en una vieja mansión en Derbyshire. Vuestro amigo, Lord Cristopher Cunningham, lleva tiempo enfermo y su mente se deteriora. Delira sobre ruidos en el páramo, luces extrañas y una figura oscura que asegura haber visto cruzar por su ventana varias veces. Decidís viajar para pasar unos días cuidando a Christopher y calmar su febril mente".
