The Victorian Principals Association (VPA) is a professional association that recognises the opportunities and challenges that are faced by educational leaders and actively advocates for them in their complex roles of school leadership, by ensuring they are connected, united and empowered. The VPA was originally formed in 1971 to represent the professional interests of principals in Victorian primary schools. Today the organisation has grown, representing Educational Leaders – Principal Class and Leading Teachers - in Victorian government schools.
Maria Giordano - Every Voice, Every Heart - Merribek Primary School
Every voice matters. Every heart matters. And sometimes, the greatest lessons in education aren’t found in a curriculum, they’re found in the people who lead with courage, compassion and heart.
Today, we’re joined by the wonderful Maria Giordano from Merribek Primary School an educator and leader whose approach to school is beautifully simple: know your people, listen to their stories, and make sure everyone feels like they belong.
That philosophy has now found its way onto the page in Maria’s new book, Every Voice, Every Heart, a celebration of connection, community and the incredible power of truly seeing and hearing the people around us.
