About Video Junkyard Podcast

Do you ever get a flash of a memory of a movie you saw as a child, but can’t remember the name? Perhaps you caught it on TV while staying up later than you should have. Or maybe you never saw it, but you recognize the cover art from the neighborhood video store around the block. At the Video Junkyard, we dig up these forgotten films and franchises and see if they still hold up in the digital age. Hosts Erik Gulbrandsen, Joe Peterson and Ryan Steiskal will look at the best, the worst, and the best of the worst.

Video Junkyard Podcast - EP 293 - Trogs, Teddy Bears & The Greasy Strangler

Hosts Joe, Marc, and Erik return with a double-feature deep dive into the 1981 cult horror The Pit — a creepy small-town tale of a bullied boy, talking teddy and man‑eating troglodytes — and the 2016 outrageously bizarre black comedy The Greasy Strangler, a gross, surreal ride about a greasy serial killer. They trade hometown lore, production trivia, pacing critiques, favorite moments, and final grades while debating how these offbeat films earned their cult status. Please send your feedback in an email to videojunkyardpodcast@gmail.com.  We'd love to hear from you.
