The New National Education Policy 2020

The new National Education Policy (NEP) is the first holistic reform that lay out a compelling, ambitious agenda for education reform and aims to completely change education system in India. It’s the first of its kind on education since the Constitution of India was created more than seven decades ago. The NEP can be seen as a continuation of the ideals and principles listed out in the Constitution, as the Policy itself claims to ‘‘build an equitable, inclusive, and plural society as envisaged’ in the Constitution’. Lofty goals, however, the changes listed in the NEP, if implemented correctly, have the enormous potential to bring Indian education to global levels and completely reform society. Yet, as few have noted, without concerted action, the NEP’s promise will remain unfulfilled.

In this episode Dr. Nath discuss on the issue and share his opinion and views on the subject.

Can India become self reliant in the era of globalisation?

In this episode, we discussed on “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan” or the self reliance plan for India. Though Atmanirvar Bharat Abhiyan is mainly plan to cut down India's dependence on imports, it doesn’t undermine liberalisation, privatisation and globalisation by favouring protectionism. However, is it possible attend self reliance without protesting its own core industries?

The slogan of self reliance is not new. We have PSUs created in the 60's and 70's to bring self-reliance to the country. But the model could not be successful. So, does self reliance mean, government will paves its way to private companies and only a handful of private companies will lead the show.

The views are private to the speaker.
