Vineyard Boise is a body of believers in the heart of Garden City that has been serving Boise since 1989. We are a non-denominational Christian church that pursues authentic Christian life and endeavors to develop mature, reproducible, Spirit-filled Christian disciples, in order to make The Invisible God Visible.
What are we actually drinking from? In 2 Peter 2, Peter warns about voices that promise freedom but leave people more tangled up than before. In Jeremiah 2:13, God calls himself the spring of living water and names the broken, leaking wells we dig for ourselves. Through the parable of the sower and a surprisingly helpful tennis ball, we look at how what we feed on shapes our hearts, and how the Holy Spirit gently presses on the knotted places to bring release. It’s an honest look at relapse, complacency and distraction, held inside a bigger story: God’s promise to give us new hearts, and the gift of always being able to come back.

Lord Knows
How do we tell what’s nourishing from what’s quietly poisonous? With an old wilderness field guide in hand, we head into 2 Peter 2 and Jesus’ words in Matthew 7: you’ll know them by their fruit. Gifting, polish and even miracles aren’t the measure. What lasts is the life offstage and the fruit a message leaves in people. Jesus spells out his own test in Matthew 25, and it centers on the hungry, the stranger, the sick and the least of these. In distracting times we’re invited to look past the surface, stay close to what’s life-giving, and trust that the Lord knows how to handle what we can’t.

Jesus Posers
A bendable, posable Jesus action figure sounds like a joke until you notice how often it's happened. In 2 Peter 2:1–3, Peter warns that false teachers will come from inside the church. They'll quote Scripture, claim the name, and quietly reshape Jesus to fit their own agenda and our own desires. So how do we keep from being fooled? We keep going back to the real Jesus of the Gospels. He turned down power that skipped the cross. He healed the ear of a man who came to arrest him. He brought good news to the poor and the outsider. This message takes an honest look at how we carry his name today, especially heading into an election season. It's also an invitation to let the Holy Spirit reorder our hearts around who Jesus actually is.
