In this episode of a new series, I take a look at a band that is incredibly influential in the rock annals of history. They are perhaps a band that now, not many people have heard of and it is ‘The Band’. I explore their sizeable influence through their last release-the soundtrack to the film documenting their last concert called The Last Waltz. This is one of the great rock albums and I explore why this is the case. So join me in a wee episode looking at a band with a unique sound and style.

A Piece of the Seventh Powerslave… (No music Ed.)
The Captain and Sharpie embark on a divergence from the single album format and cover what may be Iron Maiden’s finest run of albums of the MK2 line up. We go through Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, picking them apart as to what makes them great, and where these albums weak moments are. These are albums (from one of metals biggest bands) most stable artistic periods and we think the quality of output reflects that. But what is your fave Maiden moment? Let us know! #VRPC

The Burning Supercharger
This is a deep episode exploring Robb Flynn’s emotional problems that in the end drove much of the lyrical content to these albums THE BURNING RED and SUPERCHARGER. How did the band fare exploring and developing their Nu-metal credentials? Have these albums stood the test of time? There is a bit of a defence put up for these albums, so listen in to find out if that can be justified! #VRPC
