Is the Crypto Rally Real? Or Just a Bull Trap?

Bitcoin bounced about 6% off the 59k area to trade near 63,600, and the whole question this week is whether that move is the start of a real rally or a bull trap. My read is that it's still risky to chase here. We're in a daily and weekly downtrend, the downside target near 53k is closer than the 82k upside, so on the balance of probability Bitcoin is more likely to retest the low 50s before it confirms a new leg up. The confirmation I'm watching is a weekly close above 82.6k, and until that happens I'd rather keep accumulating Bitcoin than chase Ethereum, Solana, XRP, BNB, or Hyperliquid at these levels. I walk through the exact buy levels I want on each of those, plus the yield and dollar backdrop heading into Wednesday's FOMC minutes.

Chapters:

(00:00) Bitcoin bounces to 63.6k: rally or bull trap?

(01:57) The macro backdrop: yields, FOMC minutes, the dollar

(04:34) Bitcoin's chart: the correction and the 50-week line

(12:05) What actually confirms a bull run

(16:35) Live trade setups: the 67k retest and targets

(20:45) Ethereum

(24:08) Solana

(25:33) XRP: still relatively cheap

(31:43) BNB

(36:23) Hyperliquid

(43:42) The bottom line: 53k versus 83k

Is Solana Still Worth Buying in 2026?

Solana is down more than 70% from its $280 peak, trading around $80, and the whole question of whether that makes it a buy or a value trap comes back to Bitcoin. The framework here is simple: altcoins don't lead, Bitcoin leads, so Bitcoin has to be cheap in your own analysis before any altcoin is worth touching, and the all-in level sits near $53K, the realized price where the average holder is roughly at cost. Solana historically falls about 1.4x as hard as Bitcoin, so a move down to $53.5K on Bitcoin would put Solana near $60 to $65, which is where the risk to reward finally gets interesting. On the upside, mapping a conservative $164K Bitcoin target onto the Solana-to-Bitcoin ratio points to roughly $290 for Solana, a new all-time high, but that is only a 3.5x from $80 versus a 4.7x if you wait and buy it cheaper. The verdict: Solana is the only real non-EVM chain with genuine RWA and stablecoin adoption, but at $80 it is not a buy yet, and the time to look is when Bitcoin makes a new low.

Chapters:

(00:00) Is Solana still worth buying in 2026?

(02:00) Solana's fundamentals: the only real non-EVM stack

(08:49) Why Bitcoin has to be cheap first

(13:30) The risk to reward test versus Bitcoin

(17:52) Can Solana still outperform Bitcoin?

(22:08) The Ethereum warning

(29:22) Upside targets from the Solana to Bitcoin ratio

(34:22) Bitcoin's targets and what they mean for Solana

(42:18) Is $80 a buy? How I'm Trading Bitcoin, Gold, AI, and Stocks This July

Q2 2026 just closed as the best quarter for US stocks since 2020, the S&P up 15% and the Nasdaq more than 20%, all of it driven by AI. Bitcoin sat the whole thing out, down 14%, while gold fell 13% and silver dropped 20%, unwinding the entire 2023 to 2025 debasement trade in two quarters. The split comes down to the Fed. New chair Kevin Warsh wants price stability, a rate hike is coming in July or September, and that keeps the dollar and short-term yields strong, which pins down Bitcoin, gold, and commodities while AI stocks keep running. My read is that this is short term: once the hike is behind us and the Fed pivots back to cutting later this year, the dollar softens and the debasement trade returns. That's why I still see Bitcoin near 60k as accumulation and gold, now in a bear zone below its 40-week average, as a wait.

Chapters:

(00:00) Q2 2026 Wrap: Best US Stock Quarter Since 2020

(00:57) July Trade Plan and the Stocks vs Bitcoin Divide

(03:40) Why AI Is Driving the Rally

(06:39) The SpaceX IPO and Exit Liquidity

(08:34) Oil, the Iran Deal, and New Fed Chair Warsh

(12:47) Saylor's Bitcoin Sale and Record ETF Outflows

(20:01) July's Big Event: The July 28 FOMC and the Inflation Pipeline

(32:08) Why the Strong Dollar Holds Bitcoin and Gold Down

(41:53) The July Trade: Gold's Bear Zone and Bitcoin Accumulation

(47:29) Altcoins, the Russell 2000, and the Return of QE
