Tragedy, Pop Stars, & The Chaos of Online Culture

In this episode, we’re peeling back the layers on everything from the heavy stuff—like societal reactions to tragedy and the ethics of justice—to the lighter, yet just as complex, world of celebrity and streamer culture. It’s a wide-ranging conversation that hits on why we feel what we feel when the world gets loud. What’s Inside: The Serious Side: We navigate the emotional weight of witnessing public tragedy, the morality of self-defense, and how we handle grief and conflict in a world that often leans toward vigilante justice. Pop Culture deep-dive: We’re celebrating Ariana Grande’s incredible career evolution and tackling the real talk on body image, health, and the pressure of public authenticity. The Internet Under a Microscope: Ever wonder how reality TV evolved into the wild world of modern streaming? We’re looking at influencer culture, the debates surrounding online personalities (and the internet's obsession with speculating on their private lives), and the legal messy-ness of recent viral dramas like the Reckless Ben/Lego controversy. Music & More: I’m sharing some thoughts on Drake’s latest sounds, my personal mountaineering journey toward Everest, and a few life updates from our world. Whether we’re talking about the "vibe" of public figures or the real-world consequences of online conflict, this episode is all about maintaining boundaries while staying tapped into the culture. Resources Mentioned: Deep Dives: Coffeezilla on the Lego fraud & Reckless Ben’s latest Watch & Listen: Rob Anderson’s Are You Afraid of the Nineties?, Young MA’s Kween, and the latest from Ariana & Drake. Nothing Is New Under The Sun

"Nothing is new under the sun—not the wars, not the marketing, and certainly not the burnout." In this episode, Ash connects the dots between the 2000s Bush era and today’s Middle East conflict, proving her "spidey sense" for geopolitical cycles is sharper than ever. But the patterns don't stop at politics. From the exhausting oversaturation of the You, Me and Tuscany press run to Cardi B’s relentless media playbook, Ash breaks down why we’re all suffering from "hype fatigue." Also in this episode: The 365 Milestone: Ash reflects on one year of sobriety—the "emotional blah," the difficult final stretch, and why consistency is its own kind of victory. Mountain Highs & Lows: A 2026 Everest update, including Ryan Mitchell’s heartbreaking exit and the Khumbu Icefall logjam. The Industry Cycle: Why the backlash against Ice Spice is predictable, and the eerie timing of the Pooh Shiesty news. The Final Act: A vulnerable look at the cost of "doing it all." Ash opens up about homeschooling, losing faith in the grind, and the radical act of just showing up.
