De journalisten ontdekken ook de identiteit van een van de anonieme briefschrijvers, die Swane al die jaren probeerden te ontmaskeren.

Waarom duurde het zo’n 23 jaar tot Swane tegen de lamp liep? Maarssen is nu opgegaan in de fusiegemeente Stichtse Vecht, maar nog steeds rommelt het in deze gemeente. De afgelopen jaren werd de gemeenteraad onder meer geplaagd door ruzies, bedreiging en een raadslid dat werd verdacht van hennepteelt en witwassen. De twee grootste collegepartijen willen niet met ons in gesprek.

Lisa en Jiri krijgen een stapel mappen vol bewijsstukken en correspondentie in handen. Een groep inwoners, politici en ambtenaren uit Maarssen probeert aan te tonen dat er iets niet klopt aan Sjoerd Swane. Ook de FIOD en het OM raken betrokken.
