   Linger

The words of this spontaneous song are an outflow from a silent retreat I recently completed. The retreat’s purpose was to rest and simply be, listening and letting the Lord finish His sentences. To come and linger is a theme for me this year. As a mom of sweet littles, it can be challenging for me to make space to sit and be still. But my family needs me calibrated to Love every day. It’s in these moments when I wait with God that I find what is most important for the day. I receive daily bread that satisfies not only myself; it can be broken, blessed, and multiplied to feed the 5,000 I encounter throughout the day. At my retreat, I was reminded of the Bible stories where the sun stood still. I felt the Father say, “I will still the sun for you. I will make space. I am time. Just come and be.” The Lord paused the sun during Joshua’s battle. Perhaps rest is even more valuable than I realized—worth fighting for. And worth the sun being stilled, whether literally or figuratively. In an earlier journal entry, I wrote a note from Jesus, the Faithful and True, “If you will wait with me, I will multiply your time. If you will wait with me, I will take care of the rest. I have carved a space in the rock for you. Come nestle here. Come sacrifice your schedule here. To-do’s will bow to ‘I love you’s.’ Your home needs you calibrated to me every day. Say yes, and I will make a way!” So this song is a conversation. An invitation and our reply. “Will you come and linger?” Yes, I love to linger with You. // Improvised Lyrics: Come and linger come and linger come and linger with Me Yeah, come and linger yeah, come and linger yeah, come and linger with Me I will still the sun I will make space for you and Me Oh, just come and linger It's where I want to be Yeah, I will still the sun I'll make space to be Oh, come and linger Yeah, sit alone with Me Yeah, just come and linger Yeah, come and linger Oh, come and linger with Me I will still the sun I will make space to be Oh, yeah, I'll just come and linger Sit close to Me Yeah, I will still the sun I'll move mountains just to be Oh, yeah, just come and linger face to face with Me” Yeah, Jesus, we come to linger We come and linger we come and linger with You My Bridegroom, I come and linger I come and linger I come and linger with You I'll rest in Your tempo My schedule's at Your feet My to-do list at Your feet And I will come and linger ‘Cause my heart desires to meet Yes, so we come to linger we come to linger we come to linger with You Lord, we come and linger we come and linger we come and linger with You I will wait here for Your voice If You want to speak Oh, but I am so content Just to wait here and be And I rest here in Your choice I desire to hear Your voice but in silence we can be face to face, You and me Oh, we love to linger we love to linger we love to linger with You God says that, "I love to linger I love to linger I love to linger with you Oh, I'll stop time for you I'll still the sun just for you Oh, ‘cause we war with rest Oh, yeah yeah Yes, I'll stop the sun for you, I'll move it back ten steps for you I'll redeem the time just for you Yeah, just come and linger Yeah, cause I love to linger I love to linger I love to linger with you" //Recording courtesy of Dimensions Center and Kevin McCroskey—Thank you!

   Dusty Road

Improvised Lyrics: “Bare feet runnin' down a dusty road. Little boy, where you gonna go? Bare feet runnin' down a dusty road. Oh little boy, the places that you'll go. I call you a somebody. Oh don't ever think that you're nobody. My son, you are somebody. You are my son. Oh yeah, my beloved one. Oh oh. You've worked hard all your life. You're so faithful to your wife. And I love the way you love me. It puts me on my knees. Oh yeah, it puts me on my knees. Oh oh. Every song you’ve sang to me, I hear it. Every prayer you’ve prayed to me, I sing it. And the way you walk for me. Oh, we're celebrating here. We're celebrating here. You walk down my road. I'm so thankful for what you've chose. Yeah, you're running down my road. Running straight to me. Yeah. My feet are walking next to you. There wasn't a mile I wasn't with you. We have many more miles to go. Many more miles to go. Yeah. Walter, run with me. Now pick up those dusty feet. Come on my son, keep running with me. Oh the places you will go. Yeah. And all the world will know. Oh oh. That this is my son. Whom I love. You are my son. Who I cherish and I love.”

Oil of Testimony, Gail’s Song, Family, My Hope and Glory

One of the great honors of Voice of the Bride is when our singing to God transitions to God singing through us. These unique, personal songs have brought great encouragement, revelation, and a realization that our Father loves us even more than we can imagine. We get a glimpse of the tremendous heart of Love for the person or group we are singing over. These moments remind us of how the Psalms were written as musicians and singers played skillfully in the presence of God. David’s psalms were very intimate and specific to his life. Yet they continue to reveal Jesus and speak to us today. In the same way, these spontaneous songs reach far beyond the people in the room that day. We hope you will find personal encouragement in these songs as well. // Songs: “Oil of Testimony,” “Gail’s Song,” “Family,” “My Hope and Glory.” // Video credits: Dimensions Center and Kevin McCroskey. Seed Songs Studio Album Preview - Introduction

I’ve carried these songs with me—some for many years. Each telling the story of a journey, a reality, a revelation, a relationship. Seed Songs is a sowing. Simple, yet complex, a single seed holds the mysteries not only of its own fulfillment but of everlasting generations. I pray these songs will grow into anthems of identity and anchors of love. May you sit in the shade of the trees that take root. And share the sweetness of fruit revealed. May these seed songs ride living breath to find far-away soil. Tucked away, tended to, then transformed as new voices take hold of heirloom seed. I hope you make these songs your own. May each seed resonate in the rich diversity of the unified voice of the Bride. Amen. Faithful and True!

Improvised Lyrics: “Ooh, ooh, oooh gratitude, oh, I pour out to you, my gratitude. Gratitude, oh oh gratitude, I pour out to you, oh yeah. Let my thanks be a song, yeah, let my thanks be a song, let my thanks be a song of gratitude, yeah. Gratitude, I pour out gratitude. I have so much thanks for you. I’ve gotta pour out my gratitude. Yes, I thank you for being my rescue. Oh you ride across the heavens to come and rescue me. Oh, yeah, oh, oh, ooh. Well You have many names and you keep revealing them to me. Not just something you say but the things that You do for me. Oh, You are El Shaddai, You are God Most High, Yahweh Elohim, Jesus Christ is for me. Oh, and I elevate, You are God so great. You are lifted high, forever You will be in my eyes. Oh here’s my gratitude, yeah, poured out to You. Oh my gratitude lavished on You, yeah. Oh an offering is what I love to bring. I pour out to You, I pour out to You, yeah. Hallelujah! You’re my hallelujah! You’re my hallelujah! You are Faithful and True, yeah there’s none like You. God most high, to You I cry out with my gratitude, yeah. Here’s my gratitude, all poured out to You, oh yeah. (Ooh…) Something in the name, yeah, something in Your name. With every name You reveal, another part of me gets healed, cause You are the wholeness in me. The God of my design, yeah. God most high, You fully made me. And You return me to the perfection that You made. And all of Your heart that You gave. ‘Cause You reveal your name and another part of me is restored. Oh, and gratitude, here’s my gratitude, so much thanks for You, Yahweh. You’re the Rapha who heals. You’re the Rapha who heals. You turn the bitter into sweet. Yeah You’ve healed all of me. You’re the Jireh who provides. You’re the Pappa, my supply. I trust in you, and You’re open hand. You are my inheritance. You are the God who sees. You are my destiny, everything I need. Oh, there’s so much in the name, yeah. Yeah, there’s so much in Your name. Oh, and I give You my thanks for Your names. Ooh, oh yeah. Oh yeah, gratitude. Ooh, yeah, ooh. The God who’s present here with me. A trinity of three: Papa, Jesus, El Shaddai–Holy Spirit–You’re all God Most High. And my gratitude I give to all of You. Because You give all to me. Oh, all I need. I pour out my thankful. I pour out my grateful. I open my jar and pour it out far, all of my love for You. Hallelujah, Faithful and True. I’m so grateful for you. I’m so thankful. It’s a never-ending song of my life to sing, this offering of grateful to You.“

I can hear your heartbeat, it runs like hoof beats. It sounds so sweet. In the warm earth, in the warm sand, yeah your heart beat moves my lands. Yeah, your heart beat is like a drum beat, in the heart beat of the heavens. Yeah, your heart beat moves my heart beat. Yeah, be my drum beat to move my feet. Yeah, yeah, I will be moved. I will be moved. I will be moved by you. I will be moved. I will be moved. I will be moved by you. I will be moved. I will be moved. And the earth will move when I’m moved by you. Come and Stay a Little While

This song began as a written idea and we let the rest come spontaneously. // Written and Improvised Lyrics: “You’ve always been my rescue. I’m finding new ways to love on you. So come and stay, come and stay a little while. You’ve always been my rescue. I’m finding new ways to love on you. So come and stay, ooh, just a little while. Just a little while, yeah. You’ve always been my rescue. I’m finding new ways to love on you. Come and stay just a little while. You’ve always been my rescue. Yeah. I’m finding new ways to love on you. And you invite me to stay, ooh, just a little while. I’ll stay just a little while, yeah. Ooh. I’m learning to stay, yeah. I’m learning to stay, ooh. I’m choosing to stay, ooh, yeah. You’ve always been my rescue. I’m finding new ways to love on you. So come and stay just a little while. And you sing to me, ‘I’ll be your rescue. I always have new ways to love on you. So won’t you come and stay, come on and stay a little while. I’ll always be your rescue. So many ways to love on you. Won’t you come and stay, ooh, just a little while. Come and stay a little while. Come and stay a little while, yeah. Come and stay a little while. Ooh. Come and sit with me. Yeah, just come and sit with me. Face to face is where I love to be.’ And I know the chores can wait. You invited me to a spontaneous date. Yeah, the to-do’s can wait. Yeah, I’ll choose to stay. Because I know, you’ve always been my rescue. I’m finding new ways to love on you. So I’ll come and stay, I’ll come and stay a little while. Ohh, there’s something in the stay. There’s so much beauty in this day. Yeah, there’s something in the stay. Time is a place to dwell. In the stay is a story to tell. Oh oh oh. Time is a place to dwell, a place to come and be. Time is a precious place where I see you and you see me. So I’ll come and stay, I’ll come and stay a little while. I’ll come and stay, ooh, just a little while. Just a little while. Mmmhmm. You’ve always been my rescue. I’m finding new ways to love on you. We’ll come and stay, come, let’s stay a little while. Come, let’s stay a little while. Just sit with me a little while. And I’ll see you here a little while.”

    Aslan is On the Move

Improvised Lyrics: “There’s nothing you can’t do, no. Yeah. There’s nothing you can’t do. When the winter melts away, melts away, ooh oh. Yeah, there’s nothing you can’t do. Aslan is on the move. Yeah, on the move, yeah. Yeah, on the move. ‘There’s nothing you can’t do, no.’ You’ll hear him say. ‘With me, there’s nothing you can’t do, no, every day, yeah. I have equipped you. I have equipped you. And I will gift you with everything you need. Yeah, I’m on the move.’ Aslan’s on the move, oh oh. Yeah, the lion’s on the move, yeah. ‘Sons of Adam, daughters of Eve, come to my throne and take a seat. Together we will reign. Together we can play. Together we will thrive. Open up your eyes, open wide.’ Oh, yeah, Aslan’s on the move. And he’s coming now through you! Yeah. Can you hear his call? Mmhmm. Can you hear his call? Yeah. Yeah, he’s on the move. Well, I hear he’s not safe at all. Oh, but he’s good. Yeah, not safe at all. But always good, yeah. Aslan’s on the move. Yeah, the lion’s on the move. He’s moving now through you. Now the mighty roar, can you hear the mighty roar? Sons and daughters now will soar. Yeah, we’re on the move. Yeah, go ahead and move. Yeah, his paw prints in the snow, a sign that spring soon will show. The moment we step in, spring is coming, things start melting. Yeah, Aslan’s on the move, yeah. Mmm.”

    Safe Here with You

Improvised Lyrics: “We come together laughing. No one makes me laugh like you. It doesn’t matter what happens, I know I’m safe here with you. We come together laughing. No one makes me laugh like you. It don’t matter what will happen. ‘Cause I know that I’m safe here with you. Yes, I know that I’m safe here with you. I know I’m safe here with you. I’m so safe here with you. Yeah, I know that I’m safe here with you. I’m so safe here with you. Yeah, I know that I’m safe here with you. Two kids go out walking, stepping side by side. By the pond skipping rocks and sending out a fishing line. Yeah, I’m safe here with you. I’m so safe here with you. Well, I’m safe here with you. Yeah, I know I’m so safe here with you. (Go ahead and play). (Yeah…) You will be my side to side. Someday you’ll be my bride. And I’ll wait here for you to choose. Yeah, I just know that I feel safe here with you. Yeah. Safe here with you. Ah yeah, ohh, I’m safe here with you. (La da da…) Yeah, I know that I’m safe here with you. I can hear those wedding bells, they’re ringing in my heart. What started as a friendship has grown into a piece of art. Will you be my masterpiece? ‘Will you be my Prince of Peace?’ I say right back. Will you be my masterpiece? ‘He’ll be my Prince of Peace. ‘Cause I am safe here with you. I’m so safe here with you. Yeah, I’m safe here with you, ooh. I’m so safe here with you. We go back to that pond, skipping rocks together. ‘Cause I found where I belong, it’s right here, right here safe here with you. Ooh, you got me laughing. No one makes me laugh like you. Yes, I know, that I am safe here with you.’”
