Shallowford Farm: helping children discover Dartmoor, conservation, and themselves
In this episode, I was delighted to be invited to Shallowford Farm, near Widecombe-in-the-Moor, to meet Fiona Lambeck, the Trust Manager.
We sat in the garden in the warm October sunshine and Fiona told me about Shallowford Farm and the work they do. We spoke about the origins of the charity, how they're celebrating their 50 year anniversary, and the 'why' that drives everything they do.
We chatted about what children and young people get up to when staying on the farm, the joys of introducing children to Dartmoor for the first time, and why schools choose to come back to Shallowford year on year.
To find out more about the work they do, you can visit their website at: https://shallowfordfarm.co.uk/
It was a pleasure to spend some time in such a beautiful spot on the moors and we really enjoyed the conversation.
