One of the best song lyrics says, “Sometimes in our lives, we all have pain, we all have sorrow, but if we are wise, we know that there’s always tomorrow.” This week we dive into a conversation where this song lyric feels very tangible. Shammrie Brown talks with us about his experience with mental health and how over time as he became more vulnerable, his relationship with himself and others has been taken to a higher level. We also get insight into the importance of showing up for people physically and how when you do a real assessment of yourself and where you are in life, you can unlock such a deeper understanding of life. Shamnrie Brown is a Human Services Professional, Minister, Author, Husband and Father. In the marketplace, he raises money for a major nonprofit organization in Chicago. In ministry, he writes devotionals for YouVersion Bible apps, hosts Black Man Theology Podcast, and teaches the Bible. You can find his devotionals by searching for Good Servant Enterprises on YouVersion.

This week we welcome Xavier Moss, UF Grad, Artist Extraordinaire, Christ Believer, and one of my favorite Jamaicans to the Vulnerability Leads To Victory. Xavier speaks this week on the need to lean into God daily and how doing that will take a little more vulnerability than we may be willing to experience. You will hear about how he has had to dig deeper daily and within moments throughout the day to understand what matters most to him. Get ready to hear some wise words from a young soul. This painter will paint us a picture of how vulnerability with God is sure to bring you victory. Catch up with Xavier on IG: @xmossart and by visiting xmossart.com

Many times we think it’s not enough hours in the day, not enough days in the week, and not enough room for anything else to be in our lives. Well on this week’s episode, you’re gonna hear different. This week we welcome Dr. Tomika Ferguson to the VL2V Family as she talks about the need to have capacity for vulnerability in your life. You will point blank clearly hear us discuss that when you think you’ve reached your limit, you got room to exhale and be vulnerable. Dr. Tomika Ferguson is a Mom, Higher Education Administrator and Faculty Member, Advocate, Educator, and more. Dr. Ferguson is the founder and lead facilitator of the Black Athlete Sister Circle (BASC), a holistic development program for Black women student-athletes in higher education institutions. Dr. Ferguson is a first-generation college graduate from Appomattox, Virginia. You can connect with the Black Athlete Sister Circle here: https://thebasc.net/
