或許大家會問開辦這些事工對宣教士有甚麼幫助？我們認為福音與福利應該兩條腿一起走，因為我們不能只口講愛，看到弟兄有需要而不顧呢！(雅各書2:16)。再者，宣教士若有這些平台，就更容易接觸人群，尤其是在印尼，一個還是回教徒佔大多數的國家。

Chapter 20 介紹無名的傳道者
沒想到，在我開始淡忘這異象時，神並沒有忘記對我的呼召。在2003年1月，我所牧養的一個大學生團契邀請我為他們安排短宣，並計劃在該年聖誕節期間出發。起初，我提供了幾個地點給他們選擇，最後他們選擇了前往千島短宣。因著需要籌辦是次短宣的緣故，故在2003年11月，我先行前往探路。就在是次探路的過程中，神讓我有更多機會認識當地教會的事工與需要；並且在當時的宣教士身上，讓自己更認識到宣教士的生涯。
