In 2024, I committed to listening to the entire Bible within a year. As I journeyed through the Old Testament, I found myself wondering where these events fit within the broader scope of history. My search for a comprehensive chronological order of the Bible proved unsuccessful, and it was then that I felt led to create one myself. I invite you to join me on this journey—walking through history as we explore Scripture in its historical context.

Welcome back to Walk Through History! Today is Day 290 of our journey through the New Testament, and I'm so glad you're here.
Today we're reading Matthew 14, Mark 6, and Luke 9. In these chapters we'll witness some of Jesus' most well-known miracles, including the feeding of the five thousand and His power over the forces of nature. We'll also see the disciples being sent out to minister, learn about the cost of following Christ, and read Peter's bold declaration that Jesus is the Messiah.
As you listen today, pay attention to how Jesus responds to both the physical and spiritual needs of the people around Him. Even in moments of grief, exhaustion, and opposition, He continues to show compassion, teach truth, and reveal God's power.
Grab your Bible, find a quiet place, and let's continue our walk through history together. If you have a prayer request, feel free to leave a comment, send a message, or write to me. Now, let's dive into Matthew 14, Mark 6, and Luke 9.

Day 288: Mark 4-5
Welcome back to Day 288 of our Walk Through History Bible reading plan!
Today we continue following the ministry of Jesus as we read Mark 4 and Mark 5. These chapters showcase both the power of Christ's teaching and the authority He has over every part of creation. We'll hear the parable of the Sower and other lessons about the Kingdom of God, reminding us that God's Word is always at work, even when we can't immediately see the results.
In Mark 5, we witness some incredible displays of Jesus' power. He frees a man possessed by demons, heals a woman who had suffered for years, and even raises a young girl from the dead. Time and again, we see that nothing is beyond His reach. No storm is too strong, no struggle is too deep, and no situation is too hopeless for the Savior.
As you read today, pay attention to the faith of those who came to Jesus and the compassion He showed to people who felt forgotten, broken, or beyond help. Consider where God may be calling you to trust Him more deeply and believe that He is still working in ways you may not yet see.
Let's open His Word together and continue our walk through history. Let's get started.
