An Exploration of Business Development and Investor Relations in the Hedge Fund Industry - Part 2

Angela Samfilippo Gorder has observed the dawn and development of the hedge fund industry from every angle. Angie has over 25 years of experience in the alternative investment industry. Branching from her start as a tax consultant for Arthur Andersen's hedge fund advisory group, she has served as a senior research analyst, worked under Bank of America's prime brokerage's capital raising group, and led business development and investor relations at a hedge fund; in this position she watched her firm grow from 400 million to 10 billion in assets. However, that's not all. Incredibly multitalented, Angie then transitioned her career to pursue a bigger goal of changing the finance industry by creating a consultancy, Samfilippo & Co. to improve women's leadership positions in finance. For this ambition, in 2020, Angie was recognized as one of the Hedge Fund Journal's 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds. The second episode of this series will focus on Angie's objectives in creating her consulting firm, Samfilippo & Co. She will share her perspective on what she believes the future of finance will look like for women, by describing how firms like Samfilippo & Co. are paving the path for the next generation of female financial leaders.
