Join us again this week as we continue our sermon series in Exodus with chapter 2 verses 1-25.
As Exodus 2 begins, Israel is still suffering under slavery and oppression, and Pharaoh’s command to kill the Hebrew baby boys remains in effect. From the Israelites’ perspective, it could easily seem as though God is absent. But behind the scenes, He is already working.
In this sermon, we see God’s remarkable providence in the birth and rescue of Moses. The child Pharaoh wants dead is rescued through the Nile, adopted into Pharaoh’s own household, and eventually prepared to become the man God will use to deliver His people.
But Moses himself must first be transformed. His early attempt to help his people ends in murder and exile, followed by forty years of ordinary life in Midian. Through Moses and his family, we learn that fearing God means choosing obedience even when we cannot control—or even understand—the outcome.
Whether our obedience seems significant or completely ordinary, we can trust that God is at work. He hears, He sees, and He knows.

Fear and Freedom
Join us this week as we kick off our brand new sermon series going through the entire book of Exodus, starting from the beginning with Chapter 1 verses 1-6.
Exodus continues the story begun in Genesis and gives us one of the clearest Old Testament pictures of the life and saving work of Jesus. But the story begins in a dark place: Israel is trapped in Egypt under a new Pharaoh who fears their growing population and responds with slavery, oppression, and eventually the command to kill their sons.
Against Pharaoh stand two seemingly insignificant Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah. They refuse to obey the king because they fear God more than they fear Pharaoh—and God remembers their faithfulness even while the powerful Pharaoh remains unnamed.
In this opening message from Exodus, we see how the fear of God gives His people courage to resist evil, protect innocent life, and live free from the fear of people. Ultimately, Exodus points us toward the greater freedom God provides through Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who sets His people free from slavery to sin and death.
