   The Imposter God - Wandering Soul Podcast

   The Imposter God. A Gnostic understanding. Yaldabaoth is not the Monad. You’ve said “Our Father, who art in heaven” your whole life. The Gnostics looked at that sentence and said you were pointing at the wrong altitude — not the source, the craftsman. In the Apocryphon of John he wakes up cut off, blind, and jealous, and hangs the only sign that makes sense to him: fear, and obey. In this episode of The Wandering Soul Podcast we walk that map. The Monad is the light with nothing above it. No lack. It does not need your praise. Sophia — Wisdom, an aeon, not Eve and not Mary — tries to bring something forth alone. What comes out is unfinished. She pushes it outside the fullness. That child is the Demiurge. His name in the text is Yaldabaoth. They also call him Samael, the blind god, and Saklas, the fool. He is not Satan. Satan, in the story the churches kept, is a rebel inside someone else’s world. Yaldabaoth owns this floor. He built the factory. He poured the dirt. This is not an argument against prayer. It is the other version of the story: who Sophia is, why the craftsman exists, what they named him, and why a spark in a human body makes a priest optional.
