[…] And he'd come up and see us and say, geez, I don't understand how that guy managed to fly home. So yes, they could stand a lot of damage. And they had interchangeable parts so you could get them flying again pretty quick. Now, Bud, you were telling me before about... how the Korean War started out with a different kind of airplane. Can you just briefly tell me about that again? When we first got active in the Korean War, we were using the airplanes that were existent and in the inventory at that time, and they were essentially all fairly slow airplanes compared to the MiG-15. And the minute the MiG-15 showed up in combat, our Air Force sort of went into a panic, especially the fighter pilots, because this airplane had performance way in advance of airplanes that were already in Korea.
