Hi! I’m Candis J. I’m the creator of Rise & Recover, a faith based healing and restoration platform created to help women rise from brokenness, restore their identity in Christ, and walk boldly in purpose.
Through honest conversations, biblical teachings, prayer, encouragement, and transformational content, I help women heal deeply, break unhealthy cycles, rediscover who God created them to be, and recover what life tried to take from them.
🎙️ THE POWER OF A MENTOR Episode 1: What Is Mentorship?
“Online teaching may get you to the door, but mentorship brings you through the door.”
In this podcast series, we’re exploring how mentorship helps us move from receiving information to applying it to our lives.
In this first episode, I share my personal journey with mentorship and discuss:
✨ What mentorship is, and what it is not.
✨How wise guidance helps us recognize blind spots and unhealthy patterns.
✨ Why accountability and loving correction matter.
✨ How mentorship helps us prepare for our God-given purpose.
✨ Why growth requires our participation, commitment, and willingness to do the work.
✨You don’t have to walk through every season alone.
❓Are you willing to receive help, and do the work? It’s time to rise and recover!

✨A Better You: When There Is No Response: Part 3
In this episode, I’m following up on something I told you all I was going to do. I reached out to someone because I wanted to make room for a hard conversation and possible reconciliation. I sent the message, followed up one more time, and I did not receive a response.
And you know what? I’m okay with that because I did my part.
Today, we’re talking about what to do when you reach out but don’t receive the response you were hoping for. How do you keep moving forward? How do you check your heart, release the outcome, maintain healthy boundaries, and continue healing without becoming bitter?
I also share five things I want you to remember: do your part, check your heart, release the outcome, leave room while maintaining boundaries, and keep becoming.
Your growth cannot depend on whether another person chooses to respond. Leave room for reconciliation, but don’t put your healing on hold.
You can leave the door open without standing at the door waiting. It’s time to get up, move forward, and continue becoming a better you.
