Adapting your ideas and strategy during the Corona Virus period
In this ever changing world adaptivity is a valuable trait to have. Now we find ourselves in a completely unprecedented situation where many companies and organisations are having the hand of change forced upon them. We’re very fortunate at webvid because besides physically being in front of someone with a camera, we’ve been able to keep most of our services up and running. We’ve had continuous meetings with existing and new clients, particularly from the events industry discussing ways we can adapt and evolve their event offering for 2020. Creating a Quiz Platform
During the lockdown period, there has been an increasing use and interest in LIVE video content, which has given rise to a reinvigoration of the humble quiz. It’s fair to say that certainly has been varying levels of entertainment and quality, but wouldn’t be great if there was a platform where your audience could play along as you live streamed a quiz? We thought the same, so we built one and decided to test it out with our own quiz! The aim of this project was to create something fun, engaging and that raised the quality of the content experience for players at home, so that it wasn’t just another live quiz on a webcam. The platform developed by our in-house team is still in its infancy but it is very effective and user friendly. Participants can play on desktop or mobile, they simply need to enter a name and a contact email address, then they are in. The platform currently follows a simple multiple choice keypad interface, A, B,C or D and then at the end of the quiz each of the teams receives a final score. Today it’s all about Zoom - as it can get confusing when cross referencing the pros and cons of all scenarios in one article. So think of this being an inquisitive look into Zoom’s software and working out if it’s the platform for you? So let’s start off by asking if you are looking at Zoom for the best video streaming option and the best way to record a meeting at the highest quality? You are, well Zoom isn’t for you. Don't worry we’ll be comparing some other platforms later that probably will suit you better. (It’s worth reading on though…) But, if you’re looking for a platform that allows you to connect up to 100 people, with a user experience that is simple and almost foolproof - then Zoom is a contender. One of the most impressive points about Zoom is the low latency of the stream - this is achieved by the lower quality video and audio it produces.
