Hokum (2026)
In Damian McCarthy’s third film, rude novelist Ohm Bauman retreats to a remote inn to scatter his parents' ashes. He soon hears of a witch who was captured and imprisoned in the now sealed off honeymoon suite. After a dark turn of events, Ohm begins investigating a disappearance and ends up having to stare into the void of trauma and horror.
Is McCarthy treading the same ground over and over? Can he manage to carry his particular brand of horror over to his first mainstream release? Is this a clever attempt at doing “The Shining”? Tune in and find out!
Be sure to check out the previous spooky seasons for episodes on “Reanimator”, “The Company of Wolves”, “Hereditary”, “The Wailing”, “Lost Prophet” and oh so many more. Caveat (2020)
In the debut film from Damian McCarthy (director and writer of "Oddity" and "Hokum"), a drifter suffering from partial memory loss accepts a job to look after a psychologically disturbed woman in a house on a secluded island. The catch? He has to wear a special vest with a long chain secured in the basement of the spooky house. After the wonderful depth and creepiness of "Oddity", we wanted to watch more Damian McCarthy movies. With a creepy setting, fantastic acting, twists and spooky imagery, this is one left one of us deeply terrified to the point they had to finish it out during the day. Which one of us was so spooked? Tune in and find out!
