   #39 Year One Recap

This episode is a moment of reflection and gratitude. In this quick end-of-year recap, I look back on what Year One of We Rest On Sundays has truly been about: showing up, building in real time, and trusting purpose over perfection. Over the past year, I’ve released more than 40 long-form episodes, created over 500 pieces of content, and built a consistent social media presence with more than 400 posts and stories. Along the way, I committed to writing regularly, sitting in meaningful conversations with incredible guests, and sharing openly, honestly, and authentically. Every episode, post, and conversation has been rooted in the same mission: to help people navigate the complexities of the world, one conversation at a time. This recap is also a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who listened, shared, commented, supported, and grew with the platform throughout the year. Your presence has mattered more than you know. As I close out Year One, I’m incredibly excited about what’s ahead. The growth, clarity, and direction of Year Two feel stronger than ever, and this is only the beginning.

#38 Dr. Jovas Booker - Purpose, Partnership & Pursuing the Dream

In this powerful episode, I sit down with my friend Dr. Jovas Booker, a successful pediatric dentist, entrepreneur, and leader whose journey is rooted in resilience, vision, and heart. Jovas opens up about navigating the profound loss of his father and how that experience shaped his purpose, his work ethic, and his commitment to serving families with compassion. We dive into the complexities of being highly driven and having a Type-A personality, how it fueled his success, but also the challenges that came with it. Jovas shares how finding the right business partner, Dr. Mallory, became a game-changing balance in his life and in the creation of Dream Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. Their partnership embodies alignment, trust, and a shared mission. From starting as an associate to becoming a multi-disciplinary practice owner, Jovas walks us through the mindset shifts, growing pains, and victories along the way. We talk about ambition, leadership, legacy, and the importance of having people around you who believe in your dream, just like his mother always encouraged him to do. This episode is honest, motivating, and full of insights for anyone chasing something bigger than themselves. Whether you're an entrepreneur, a healthcare professional, or someone striving toward your next chapter, Jovas’ story will leave you inspired.

#37 From Final Four to Life Lessons: Coach Rob on Basketball, Family, and Faith

In this episode, I sit down with Coach Rob, a high-level basketball trainer, former Division I athlete, and current player development coach at Kennesaw State. Coach Rob has worked with high school and college athletes who’ve gone on to the NBA and was part of Auburn’s player development staff during their unforgettable Final Four run. Our conversation goes beyond the court. We talk about the lessons learned from basketball, the importance of humility and service, and how living as a servant opens doors both in sports and in life. Coach Rob also shares how he balances his career with family and marriage, and opens up about navigating the pain of losing his mother while continuing to push forward with purpose. This is a conversation about basketball, yes, but more than that, it’s about perseverance, growth, and staying true to your calling.
